Yedharo Reveal What Could Be Some Titanic Painting Projects
May 1, 2012 by brennon
If you're looking for something to keep you occupied for a week or two then check out these 54mm models from Yedharo Models. Some nice original models here for you to sink your painting teeth into.
First up is the mighty looking Cancer from War of the Zodiac. I love the chitin style armour and the massive claw blade attached to his arm. A proper mighty warrior. He would be nice mixed in with something Atlantean perhaps?
But if you are looking for something more evil then how about the mighty and spiky looking Mordekai?
Yet another massive and intricate warrior. I'm liking the mix of Samurai and Dark Elf within the model and he certainly feels like you wouldn't want to annoy him.
So the question is, are you going to pick either of these guys up for a painting project?
That Cancer looks far more thougher than one from anime and manga Saint Saiya. That Mordekai has lot of nice detail.
I got to give it to the painter of that Cancer. At first I thought it was concept art due to the dark shading. After a few seconds it finally hit that yes that is the model and the choice of color was intentional. I wish I could paint at that level. Also it really supports the idea that a bigger model opens up the level of fine work you can place in it.
I got to take a look at the full range now.
Shame about the scale – Mordekai would be such a perfect Dark Elf champion with that ‘layered blade’ armour style. The pose is a bit static though. Perhaps he could be some form of large construct like that Banelegions colossus…being in a larger scale gives more room for NMM work.
I’ve always been happily surprised by Yedharo…
Some of the 54mm models make very good giants, demons, gods or other titans for RPGs and wargames alike… Really great centerpieces, highly detailed and well proportioned !
