Here we have Darrell talking about Fear in Warhammer Fantasy. He takes a look at a couple of Fear and Terror causing units and discusses what they do in combat. Of course when Darrell is on camera he causes fear to all who oppose him.

Mantic dragon causes fear in GW figures…oh the irony
HAHAHAHA just thought of the same thing XD!!!!
That miniature is shite compared to GW’s dragons. Too small and Indian in the Cupboard for my tastes. If only wargames foundry made a bigger selection of monsters and fantasy miniatures. Oh and before the GW drone crap starts again (I liken this tactic to adolescent girls bickering on the playground) my posts are always a matter of my opinion. Mantic need more selection and better artistic quality before I go out of my way to order any models. Just cos the price is better doesn’t mean the Mini is.
As far as skeletons causing fear, I would probably grant that they should. I’s not necessarily the skeletons themselves that are going to freak people out. It’s the dark magic that animated them, the psychological impact of how unnatural it is to see dead things walking around, and the knowledge that you and your friends will probably be joining their ranks if things go badly. When taken as a whole, I’d probably say that seeing a gang of “dark magic” animated skeletons coming at you has to be “unsettling” at best…and they cant exactly make up leadership tests for “general… Read more »
I agree with t9nv3, Skeletons should definitely cause fear, I mean if I walked outside and saw a bunch of undead I think I am going to be afraid, but that is just me. You seem to dislike Vampire Counts army as it is, so I guess maybe that is effecting your opinion.

I can see where Darrell is coming from – in the context of a fantasy world, walking skeletons wouldn’t be that scary or outlandish, whereas giant spiders would still make you wet your pants.
Great work as always, I think the daily tips can be successfully demonstrated by a single person.

I’d like to ask one thing: at what point was it that giant spiders started to cause fear? Is it in the new FAQ/erratas?
I admit that it makes sense for a giant spider to cause fear, but I don’t recall it being an official rule is all.
Ah indeed, Darrell, you’ve gotta give our Skellies some credit. I reckon if a host of 100 of them came marching in perfect pace right at you, when you know it is not really possible, you’ve got to be at least unsettled 😉 Imagine if they did when it was full moon night…:P

agreeing with jackal and t9nv3, skeletons causes fear, not just the bones but also, have in mind that skeletons are 100% syncronized, they have no will of their own and so they never like stumble or get lost during march, they never drops their weapons, they dont care if pieces of their armor just drops down or if the likes of bolts and arrows penetrating their skulls. everything about walking skeletons is so unnatural, thats what causes fear. personally i would take the debate to however Zombies should cause fear. anyway… one other thing about new fear system, i dont… Read more »
I think Darrell’s doing a good job on his own when it comes to getting the rules out and what not. I do enjoy seeing him banter with whoever tho.
Barring any big chested blonde female assistants (and god please no big blonde chested female assistants), maybe a random guy every once in a while. I don’t know if you guys are doing this at your club/store/?? but maybe grab a regular and have some lucky chump be your assistant for a reel or 2.

Fear is the bane of my games. Yes I use Ogres so I cause fear. the problem arises when I finish a game then realise I forgot about fear and never made anyone take fear tests! Every single game so far dammit!
