The Wonders of Red Box
March 10, 2011 by beerogre
Red Box Gamesis the company owned by Tre Manor. If you don't know who he is... shame on you!
Tre has sculpted some of the finest fantasy miniatures I own and continues to crank out sculpts of such quality and detail that the rate that he does it defies logic!
Anyway... a new pair of factions has emerged on the Red Box Games site... the Aenglish and the Shirelings.
Feast your eyes on these...
I urge you to visit the Red Box online shop, but I warn you... make sure you have cash in your paypal account... you'll kick yourself if you don't!
... and just one last note. If Mr. Manor is reading this, keep up the good work, we'll be featuring some more of your excellent work very soon.

I really like the Shireling… I’m going to use it in RPGs. That’s exactly one of my player characters !
I was thinking the same thing, these look tailor made for Dungeons and Dragons or something similar
Actually, I think there was a skirmish game in preparation, but so far nothing has turned up… But even as “cupboard indians”, minis that never leave the shelf, Tre’s work is awesome !
Lovely figures.
I’ve been meaning to get some of these miniatures for a while now.
I own some miniatures from Red Box and really like them; especially the fact that the barbarians are not just bare guys with only big weapons and loincloth or trousers.
Agreeing with Andy’s appeal to Mr. Manor: keep up the good work.
really love the sculpts. about what size are they as in would they work for say a hero in Warhammer and such?
That depends on the concrete miniature. Some seem to be real scale and are a little more gracefully and others fit very well.
Here is a pircture (just for comparison, since painting is not that good >.>)

thanks for the link… i think they would work well even though they are a bit bigger than the GW minis
Think they are 28mm True Scale. The proportions are excellent and more realistic than Warhammer so may look a tad smaller? Not sure though.
I also have my eye on Red Box.
There is a trader on eBay for British distribution.
Some of the poses are among the best I have seeen in miniatures. Tre has a really good eye imho. He captures poise and movement superbly well.
Thanks for that, looking good, not heard of them before.
More lovely figures to aim for.
Fat Fergus is great.
Said it before but I’ll say it again, I do believe we’re living in great times for figure collectors 🙂
Absolutely…
The engineering techniques have made constant progress, and now it’s easier to produce bbetter quality minis, and easier to sell them over the Internet…
There are lots of new companies around.
Besides, taking the inflation into account, minis and RPGs are actually cheaper than they used to be 20 years ago… Or at least their pricing hasn’t climbed as steeply as most consumer goods.
