Become One of the Nine in WizKids’ New Boardgame
January 31, 2012 by dracs
WizKids, makers of the Lord of the Rings HeroClix range, have unveiled a new Lord of the Rings semi-cooperative boardgame. Take on the persona of one of Sauron's sinister, faceless servants and stop the Fellowship in Nazgûl!
"You are one of Sauron's most powerful minions: a Nazgul! You must work together with the other Nazgul to stop the cursed hobbits and destroy the resistance of men. But at the same time, you must strive to prove your own worth to the dark lord. After all, there are rumors that even the Witch-king can be killed, and Sauron may soon need a new leader for the Nazgul."
That's right now is your chance to play as one of the infamous Ring Wraiths.
In the game you and the other players are faced with three campaigns which you must complete before the Ring reaches Mount Doom. If it does than the world is saved from Sauron and you are out of a job.
Do you like the sound of this game? Or do you think you will give this one a miss?

I think the idea has potential but it will very much depend on how it is executed. On the plus side, the ringwraith figure doesnt look too bad, though then again its hard to mess up black robes with no face
The ring wraith figure is actually one of the HeroClix figures, I don’t know what the ones in the boardgame will be like.

Maybe Ben might… 😉

I thought GW had the LOTR game/fig licence …. or does it not cover boardgames?
WK does make LotR figures for Heroclix so apperently GW is not only one who has lisence to make those.
