Another Wave of Fantasy for Dark Sword Miniatures!
May 25, 2012 by brennon
Another month approaches and another set of weird and wonderful adventurers for the world of Fantasy have arrived from Dark Sword Miniatures. Check out their newest pieces below...
First off we're heading to the mind of Larry Elmore with some superb fighting females...
My favourite above has to be the Female Ranger. Perfect sense of old school fantasy artwork has gone into this drawing it right from the mind of the great man himself. Even if she does wear a Chainmail Bikini at least shes looking menacing at the same time!
Now we're off for some time with the Game of Thrones cast, namely the flavour of the month being Dire Wolves! But I do like that Robert Baratheon figure...
But of course the reason I bet a few of you are here is that you want to see what anthropomorphic delights Dark Sword have come up with. I don't think you will be disappointed...
While I am all for Bard, I don't quite think I could listen to the croaking from that Frog one! My favourite of these has to be Richard the Lionheart. A perfect mix of pride and might mixed into a bit of animal fun.
Once again a vast and interesting collection from Dark Sword Miniatures.
But what's your favourite?
the lady in white with staff is MINE, great model for a brit army
Loving the animals yet again – such characterful, fun, quirky sculpts in those frogs. Love the shape of the thief’s head with the slight sneaky grin and the bard’s wide ‘om-nom-nom’ mouth. 😉 Richard the Literal Lionheart has a static pose but such a good paint job on the eyes bringing out the arrogance of nobility and such wonderfully detailed and regal armour that it all comes together – he’s a true Lion King. Hakuna Matata! 🙂 The more traditional fantasy stuff is gorgeous too – my fave is the cocky knight as she’s beckoning an opponent with one finger… Read more »
From those female models I am liking all but female ranger who has that Larry Elmore art look with almost no protection giving chainmail bikini. Those GoT models are well sculpted and those are defenetly must buy for every wargamer who is GoT fan. and then there is more animals to satisfy need of players of the Ironclaw RPG.
To be honest, the lass in chainmail shirt is better protected than the dark elf, who has straps of metal attached willy-nilly and covering absolutely nothing. Heck, I’d insist that she’s better armored than any of the other ladies who somehow managed to leave the chest completely open to blows.
That is some nice models and who ever painted the ladies is a great painter. The undead hunter is my fav 🙂
