Warcasters count as a warrior models, if was rank and file it would be ruled as a trooper model, everything in the vid is legal
Just wanted to point out that the rules correction is incorrect, you can upkeep as many spells as you want/have focus for, I think you got that confused with not having multiply friendly upkeeps on a single model/unit, which in this case is totally legal as death sentence is an offensive spell and would be on Sorcha and Mirage would be on Garryth.
Death sentence is indeed an offensive spell, but you need to hit the target in the first place before you can begin to upkeep it. For Garryth, that is a bit tricky because he only has 6 focus, so while the spell only costs 2, you typically have to boost to hit (with Sorsha on def 16, you need to roll a 10 to hit). All of that in combination with the short range (his pistol have an extra 4 inches of range), I think alot of the time the focus can be better spent. That said, Garryth on full… Read more »
Love the idea of Warmachine/Hordes but I have to say I struggle to remember all the little spells etc. Only played a few games though with my Trollbloods, lost every time ofc, but I hear that is normal. would love to play more, but feel somewhat overwhelmed with all the little abilities. Don’t get me wrong, I LOVE the complexity of it all. Just wished there was a chess computer type game to learn from. On that note, what ever happened to the computer game of Warmachine? That could have been such a good introduction into the beer drinking version!!… Read more »

Try the double upkeep spells on Garryth!!! You could have cast Death Sentence after the Mirage move or do two shots aiming (as Madelyn’s move and Mirage don’t count so you get aiming bonus – and the guns still have Arcane Assassin), or just boosted the “to-hit” rolls to get your 8’s than risk the rerolls. But instead you failed and get it wrong!!! On a serious note showing these interactions in video form is a great way for new players to understand bits. I can always (well Wednesday evenings) offer my help on these bits as its the interactions in H/WM that are the details rather than breaking badly worded rules 😉

Like the idea of this vid. But guys, why don’t you read the rules! Death sentence: When a friendly faction model misses target ENEMY unit with an attack it can reroll the attack roll. The whole upkeep spel thing has been explained. So if Swampy did cast the spel as it was intended he would be able to upkeep them both. One on Garreth (mirage)as it is a friendly spel and u can upkeep one of those on Gareth. And the other on Sorcha (death sentence) it being an offensive spel and you can upkeep one of those as wel.… Read more »
