A Warhammer Flavoured Tease for the 31st of March
March 27, 2012 by brennon
I think most people are fairly sure on the next Warhammer army getting the 8th Edition Treatment, but Games Workshop have produced another (incredibly poor) teaser video for the 31st of March which you can see above...
The trailers like the introduction to an old 90's video game. Never mind I suppose, at least another army is getting the 8th Edition treatment.
You can discuss the teaser and more below and on our site here.
What do you make of this teaser?
The voiceover makes me think of a Vogon captain reciting poetry.
Remember that the book with DON’T PANIC in nice friendly red letters on the cover says, on no account let a Vogon captain recite poetry to you!
This is your voice over… this is your voice over on drugs!
Hmmmm sarcastic response about it could possibly be empire or no sarcastic response…. Ohhhhh I wonder if it could be a update for the Empire?
Someone please tell the voice over to kick his smoking habit. He’s set fire to the painting of orc backs.
I take it empire is coming up. Wish they follow the old press release model and just let us know so we can be stoked about what they plan on selling.
Seems like GW has not improved these at all.
If anything, I’d say that they’ve gotten worse. Seriously, has anyone tried writing to them to tell them that these are horrible? Maybe direct them to PP’s latest offerings??
With the money they make, they could afford to do something that doesn’t look like it was done with the free crappy software included with every new home camera…
Ah, but people are going to say I’m being mean to GW again.
BoW Romain
Nope. Shoddy promotionals should be scorned. They need to up their game, or just not bother. It’s tedious, cheap and boring =D
Yay. Another turgid voiceover.
So what’s this all about then, have they redone an army book? I kind of dozed off about 5 seconds into the video….
It seems The Empire will be getting the next 8th Edition rule book. To be honest, I don’t really think they deserve it, but since they are one of the big sellers I guess it was inevitable. Still drumming my fingers for a Dwarf release.
I think the Wood Elf players would like to be considered before the Dwarf book gets an overhaul. But then again, who cares… it’s Elves…lol
Poor Woodies :'(
Athel Loren weeps for them in their neglect and will have vengeance on those that queue jump.
This is good evidence that the Brits are descended from WEs btw. We have to have orderly queues with no pushing in.
GW should understand this, they are supposed to be British after all dammil! What what.
You know 99% of these Warhammer rumours turn out to be BS. Brets were “defo” going to be released in Jan-Feb 2012 … and Tau.
If it sounds too good to be true, it’s it.
Can’t be bull when it’s an official GW trailer…and the White Dwarf pics are now on the BOW front page… 😉
In this case, the BS is the truth =O
Wonders never cease!
I blame Hollywood.
All the trailers for movies are done by someone with more gravel than Chesil Beach in throat.
GW get some poor sap to try and imitate this which is never going to work when the guy is a natural counter-tenor.
Personally I would prefer it done in the style of Kenneth Williams.
*his throat
we need an editing suit lol
Or a woman… oh, wait: there ARE no women in the Empire 😉
My biggest issue with all these voice overs are the MASSIVE over reliance on pitch modulation; that speaker is being so modulated (still) that it just sounds silly…
…that being said, I guess it goes spot-on with all the skulls and He-man recreations as of late…
Awesome cover on the new book, BTW. I’m not being sarcastic, it’s the best one so far for 8th.
I agree the cover is very cool. I liked the Greatsword weilding chap on the cover of the old BL weapons and armour book for WHFRP too.
