Wargames Foundry Tribes of Legend Collection
November 30, 2011 by dracs
Wargames Foundry have host of new releases for their upcoming game book Tribes of Legend, wargames set in the world of Greek mythology.
Greek mythology is full of examples of epic battles, fearsome monsters and great heroes, perfect for you to base your games around. These miniatures are sure to help you get some great classicaly inspired games going.
Jason and the Argonauts and Clash of the Titans!
Cool!
Not enteirely enamoured of the sculpts but do fancy Tribes of Legend
Just realised that centaurs have a six pack and an equine barrel belly! But then they do like a drink or several!
Where is Bubo?
And why doesn’t Eros look like a white Gary Coleman? Steriods?
Fun stuff. Looking forward to the demigods. Oh, the lightning bolt looks a bit too much like a skateboard logo.
You saying that’s not a boomerang Zeus has in his hand?
Hmm. So you think Zeus got board one day and then went on a walkabout? Guess that could explain the electro boomerang.
Oh dear…
This brand is all right, most of the time, but only the hard-core Ray Harryhausen fans will like these… Especially the gods, skeletons and centaurs.
Then again, maybe it’s just a case of woeful paint-job… It’s the usual Foundry technique.
It’s a pity, because the Foundry fantasy stuff is usually excellent, and their regularly clothed figures aren’t bad, if a bit stiff… As for these ones, well, I’d proxy them if I were to play the game. I’m sure @quirkworthy won’t mind…
Still, I think you can do something with the gorgons, the satyrs, and perhaps Hera or Athena.

Thanks for this comment. I found Sinbad and the Eye of the Tiger on You Tube. Inspirational.
I quite like the Bronze Bull they do, though it’s a little basic compared to the scaly Reaper one. The satyrs are fun as well – it’s good to see a beastman that’s not a Beastman (see what I did there…) for a change.
However – and this is important for future figures – someone tell the sculptor that you absolutely DON’T make athletic female bodies (that for the purposes of sales if not mythological accuracy you want to look attractive) by putting boobs on top of the pecs of a male torso.
Meh,nitpicking. 😉
😀
Not bad, but then I liked the jason and the argonoughts/clash of the titans films – note I like the original stop-motion ones – not those horrid CGI-remakes ! so I guess these have some appeal to me 🙂
