Wargames Atlantic Scout Out Some Elves
November 18, 2019 by avernos
As their Halflings start to ship Wargames Atlantic have previewed their next fantasy kit that they are working on and it's a staple of the genre.
The next stop on the Fantasy journey takes them into the deep woods and the home of the knife-eared gits, also known as elves.
First thing to point out is that these are not the final renders and they are still a work in progress but there is already a lot of fantastic detail in there. The arrow head is leaf shaped, the metal work at the end of the buckle is also worked to resemble a leaf. I'm a fan of the moccasin style of shoes they're wearing, they lend themselves better to the idea of a race one with nature barely leaving a footprint in their wake.
This set is in sculpting now and will feature a mix of bow, spear, and sword, although we are only seeing the archer variant at the moment it hopefully will not be too long before we see how the other pieces are stacking up. Hudson has said that the bodies will be one piece, head, arms and equipment are separate. So in the above render the sword and dagger on his front and the quiver on the below picture.
Again we see the leaf patter repeated on the quiver. Despite being knife-eared gits I do like how these look, the horn-tipped recurved bows are not something you would expect to see on a typical elf from other manufacturers and I like that. It makes them stand out while still being classical elves at first, second or even third glances. They look like they'll have enough detail to make them easy to paint without being overly fussy. So getting a big force on the tabletop in short order should be easy enough. I can only wonder where Wargames Atlantic will go next on their fantasy journey.
If you go down to the woods to-day you may not believe your eyes!

Really love these. Between these and the Oathsmark ones, you have no excuse not to have a mass of elves on your table… well, except that they are elves!
Some more undead, cavalry etc would be good
Nice model’s.
Pretty cool. Still meaning to pick up their skellies. I’d like to see Wargames Atlantic release a beastmen faction too tbh
I like toys (edited by Gerry because I hate spam)
These look great. I still want a wood elf army.
I hope the shields for the spear and swordsmen are going to be nice.
I expect they will be, rest assured I’ll post them as soon as I get a look at them
These are right down my alley. A great addition to bulk out my Wood Elf Army.
gotta see if they have other infantry types…..elf fodder
These look neat. Thanks for finding and sharing the preview images!
