New Vampire Counts Coming This Month?
January 3, 2012 by brennon
Could the latest in Games Workshops ''zooming in'' previews be a hint towards the rise of the Vampire Counts this month?
Check out the video above and watch out for the date 7/01/2012.
What are your thoughts?

Another laugh riot from the cutting edge, media-savvy boys down at the workshop. This really should have come out a good month ago. The WD with all the picks of the new units got leaked on Dec.25 so this is a bit underwhelming.
I’m excited about this release, but the date seems a little confusing. Is Jan 7th the date we can expect new models? Seems doubtful, I expect that Jan 7th is the date that we’ll get our hands on the WD that has all the pictures that we’ve already seen….womp womp…
ZOOM FOR EFFECT!
First Class voice acting again there, great Sylvanian accent. I particularly like how he pronounced “within” with a V in the middle. ¬_¬
Seriously for a multi-million pound company with ties to a massive film studio this is dire.
Pretty sure this is for the new Wood Elves army!! …they wouldn’t pass them over again?? Would they??
Hahahaha! 😉
At my signal on the 14th unleash slighly better but still pants youtube clip
come on guys don’t be so disparaging you’ve got to admit it’s better than the Dreadfleet one :L
That’s like saying having your jaw dislocated is better than a fractured skull.
The Vampire Counts? Why are they going over them again, it’s like only 3 years from the last release? For the love of God update Wood Elves and Tau! And while there at it fix the CSM for bloody sakes!
Yeah, anyone with a computer and teh Googles has seen the entire new range (which is bloody brilliant, BTW!) complete with release dates.
Hey GW… I’ll do some direction and voice acting for free… all you need to do is ask
These teasers seem a bit pointless when the stuff they’re supposed to be promoting has been leaked days ago. But GW’s marketing has never made much sense from marketing perspective.
COME ON!
IT SHOULD HAVE BEEN EITHER BRETTONIANS OR WOOD ELVES! (The latter being the one who needs it most!)
THEY ARE BEGGING FOR A CHANGE!
cool stuff

This is a very straight forward release. The new front cover is IDIOTIC. it looks like a joke. However, they don’t need to bring out much new stuff. A welcome black knights plastic box set and some MI models. The main thing is the points cost being lowered to take into account that Fear does not do “much” in 8th edition. I think it’s a pretty quick affair, a quick release, The new Wood Elves and Brets to some extent, will need a serious amount of attention and releases. Vampire Counts was a pretty easy affair, so I suspect that’s… Read more »
Yep. The cover art looks pretty terrible. Don’t they have somebody to step forward and tell them that that kind of thing needs to be changed? Oh, wait… never mind, I forgot what company we were talking about *cough*
I don’t mind the cover too much myself, though it’s much less darkly menacing than the old one in lighting and posing. The biggest problem IMO is the fact that the vampire seems to be posed as shouting “Get orf moi land!”
Actually…I’ve seen that guy before. In face, skin tone, hair and leg armour style.

A subtle hint at where to get your core from perhaps? 😉
It’s GW’s belated Christmas gift to Ronnie Renton! ‘Sales on your undead range slowing down? Here you go!’
I actually like the new cover over the old one.
This is why I’m waiting to get my vampire counts army, cuz this is coming out xD
As long as the Corpse Cart is still in there then I am happy.
That was cheesy as usual.
cheesy? or just flat out shit … lol
WD Pics of the new models http://www.warseer.com/forums/showthread.php?t=319999
Seen the new models for VC and they look fab, a few will need some work to fit in with my Violet Death army. I’m just hoping the army book is as good and balanced as the recent trend.
Well, im happy, from the looks of things we can make necromancer lists again, none of those poncy vampires required (hopefully). And the neck biters did need a update, hopefully the book is a bit more varied, the last list ment that anyone fielding anything other than ghouls as core were doing something wrong (not counting warbeasts here). Hopefully skellies and zombies are back.
I’m hoping the rules of zombie’s are better or at least the points cost, so we can field them rather than just try and raise them using magic. Plus with the new cav and uberghouls I can get some punch without resorting to graveguard.
I think if anyone can make zombies work, it’s phil kelly. I can see a slight regen save…or weird special rule.. being all it would take to make these guys viable for 2 pts. Skeletons will be viable at 4 pts if given the Screaming banner…..which is now rumored to be affordable enough to fit into any unit.
Hey isn’t that Voldemort’s outhouse?
I really dislike the big plastic ghost box set. Ghosts were the biggest fail of Return of the King movie and it’s horrible to see GW using it for a £40 or whatever piece of kit.
I know what you mean about the ghosts, but I’m hoping it’s the paint job. Now the gw paint do amazing work, stuff I could never get close to, but sometimes I’ve seen other paint jobs/schemes and like the models more.
Maybe you’re right. A ghostly white? Or a grim grey perhaps?
…what colour are ghosts anyway? Has anyone seen one? What colour was it?
“what colour are ghosts?” I actually did a google check on that, and the results are hilarious
I think you should paint it like your avatar @t9nv3 as it looks very ghosty to me.
I’ve seen a couple of dodgy remolds of tau stealth suits where they have been recast in clear resin … very cool predator vibe. Would work great for ghosts?
Now we need a proper Vampire Counts trailer from Captain Dave Mustaine, in a Euro Metal style to match the accents.
If it means getting a shipload of plastic bats I’m all for it though. I do love their plastic kits and this being right in the GW comfort zone I’m bound to cave in and buy some hyperbolic, skull-festooned spiky ghoulbeast for conversions or just for kicks.
Reason why VC have had a pushed forward release is to do with the way magic works now – according my my local GW manager anyway ^^
Oh yeah! forgot about that lol. Makes sense. Vampire Counts are based around magic from what I recall, but with 8th magic turned into an uber-double edged sword.
Is it bad, that when watching that, all I could think was: “Got that terrain piece and that one, that one to… Maybe I should go ahead and paint them?”
Other then that. YES Wood Elves or Bret’s should’ve come first BUT… the new models looks awesome! Can’t wait to paint some of them… after some terrain… maybe >.>
and I AM RAMBO!
