The Undead Samurai Rides Out From Dark Hammer Miniatures
March 25, 2013 by brennon
A few weeks ago we looked at the Undead Samurai renders from Dark Hammer Miniatures and now the time has come for the figure to find its way out of the grave and onto your painting table.
This figure is a limited run but is certainly a good looking piece. He is also the first in a series of miniatures so if this has you interested there should be more on the horizon.
While it most likely doesn't fit into a wargaming situation it could be a good project for a budding expert painter. It certainly does look like it has plenty of detail.
Will you ride with him?
Wonderful concept and pose. This guy looks as if he’s been dead for quite a while and only dark magic is keeping him from going all to pieces. I particularly like the horse. All in all this is a change from the semi-comical undead I’m used to seeing.
I can’t tell the scale, but if 28mm or so, it would make for a good unit leader of elite undead, if like e you like making up back stories for your characters.
Certainly a nice mini, but 50$ is a bit high for it,limited or not.
There is a joke about trying to flog a dead horse in there somewhere.
and your certainly the man to find it :-))
An unusual subject and a nice sculpt. Even assuming it really is a LE it seems a bit on the pricey side for a 28mm figure. I do agree that’s the most likely scale though.
Nice model whatever the price is. As its first model, I’m not surprised by the high price as they need some form of income until more models are released.
their site say that the base is 70mm – that should give the size
Would put the figure at 54mm if that is the case.
The price certainly seems more reasonable at 54mm.
Like I said earlier: nice model. Would paint up really well.
On their site is a pic with a ruler beside it: http://www.darkhammerminiature.com/gallery/website-photo-ud/9.jpg
54mm or thereabouts.
