Titan-Forge Crowns a Grandmaster of the Lion Order

We have seen a preview Work-in-Progress of this bestial warrior before here is the Grandmaster of the Lion Order in all his glory from Titan-Forge...
So what do you guys think of him now he has been finalised? While he isn't in the most animated of poses I like the idea that he is commanding his troops from atop a rocky outcrop, gazing down as his men move into position against the enemy.
With a little work could this even be altered to make him an Elf hero? I do like the addition of his shield on the rear of the model, just within reach for when battle commences.
Are you like this finalised release?
I still think the calmness of the griffon’s closed beak doesn’t go with the more animated look of the rider and the fur texture isn’t the best I’ve seen, but it’s still a very good looking model and I particularly like the barding and shield detail.
The lion’s head on the pelt the rider wears tells of more heroic deeds than just a lion-shaped talisman and the rocks the model stands on don’t jut out too much, so ranking up should be less of a problem than with some scenic bases.
Model itself is very well sculpted and detailed how ever griffon lacks some life becouse it looks so calm.
I can see myself getting this to paint. The armor and such are well detailed.
