Tinracer’s Merry-Go-Round Mortis Engine… stay tuned for more!
March 9, 2012 by beerogre
Check out the mechanical Mortis Engine created by our pal Tinracer for his Violet Death Plog.
It's still work in progress at the moment, but we can't wait to see it finished!
lol the horses are going backwards. cool but the tune could be creepier 😀 nice work
Oh now that is inventive…a merry-go-round for a kid…who happens to be a centenarian. 🙂
The fact it’s built around a music box just enhances the eerie nature of it and there’s nothing wrong with creeping out your opponent for psychological advantage by using it (just ask anyone using a Wet Nurse as a Greater Daemon of Slaanesh).
One small point though – the horsies are going the wrong way round. Once that’s fixed however it’ll be great to see and I’ll look forward to the finished article.
Hahaha, that’s cool!
Have you seen the german entry in last WD, said that it flips/rotates to show a story!
That is brilliant, really impressed by that. Cannot wait to see the finished product.

Thanks guys – couldn’t believe the horses went backwards! So yes they do need fixing. My major concern was that the merry-go-round parts wasn’t going to be too heavy and that the mechanism was going to be able to drive it. Will cover some of the mechanics with parts from the kits, but as a mortis ENIGINE, liked the idea that you can see cogs and flywheels.
I loved how the horses go backwards, it more creepier that way, like something very wrong and eerie is controlling it lol. Bloody love it!
This is absolutely brilliant!!!!
haha that’s awesome!!
wheres dougal, zebedee and co?
They were resurrected a while ago with necromantic CGI
That’s so creepy, at first I thought that the horses going backwards was strange, but then I just think it makes it all the more creepier. You could add a backwards facing skellie onto it to make it look like it was deliberate.
actually i think the music makes it creepier 😀 brill job
GW stole the megalith, why not this one too 😛 thatll be a laugh
Inspired, creepy work. I agree that the fact the horses are going backwards is actually kind of effective. Whole thing gives me Silent Hill flashbacks.
What on God’s green earth did I just see? Man @tinracer you always amaze me with what you come up with! It just gets me into that conversion mode once again.
Excellent – reminds me of Twisted Metal, Sweet Tooth.
