Sullen Soldiers & A Dread Maw From Warhammer Forge
July 15, 2013 by brennon
Forge World are back in the Old World and bringing more monsters and heroes to the tabletop for Warhammer Fantasy. Check out the Empire Command and Dread Maw below...
First up we have the Empire Command set which includes a Battle Standard Bearer, Flagellant and Captain. Each of them has an insane amount of detail but that does come at a rather high price tag. Still, if you have practically everything you could ever want for an Empire army this would be a nice layer of icing on the top of the cake.
On the somewhat larger front we have the monstrous Dread Maw. This underground dwelling beast has burst from the earth in search of prey. I'm fairly sure it could swallow practically anything with that gaping jaw.
The Dread Maw will be available towards the end of the month and so will the Empire Command set. I'm just waiting patiently for Black Fire Pass.
What do you think of these new additions?

Standard Bearer, flagellant and captain is an odd command group. A shame as I’d have been tempted were they available separately (or more to the point, without the flagellant).
I think it was more as a Command set than a group. Although it would have been nice to see a musician in the group. I really like the Battle Standard Bearer, certainly the nicest model in the set.
All nice looking models but agree, the flagellant looks out of place with the other two.
think the purple worm model for d&d is far nicer than the dreadmaw.
Damn, I thought they might have been the badasses from Game of Thrones 🙁
Seems to me that they didn’t know where to fit in the flaggelant and thus threw him in with the other 2. I like the minis but baptising them “Command” sounds silly to me.
As for the price, OK, FW is notorious about these…
The Flagellant is a Prophet of Doom, which is technically an officer.
But Frazer was only a private
