Strike up a Tune with the Bards of Godslayer
July 26, 2012 by brennon
So we've seen Mortans, Halodynes, Troglodytes and Nordgaard warriors in Godslayer, but what about the Wildfolk of Annyr? Well wait no more because here is the first miniature from their range from Megalith Games...
A bit of Braveheart going on there perhaps? Being a Bard of Aynnsing his songs are not only for the campfire but the battlefield as well, inspiring his comrades into feats of daring valour against the enemy.
Do the Wildfolk sing to you?

I’m a big fan of bagpipes but this one seems rather small. Not the best model of a piper I’ve seen especially when you compare it to the rest of the line.
His claymore/bastard sword is a little small now I look at it, seems a little stunted. Maybe a bit more movement and such would bring the miniature to life. Maybe have him standing proudly pointing the sword rather than raising it, give him more commanding direction.

Thats really nice sculpt but I can’t help to think that he looks like he is more into using that sword than playing that bagpipe.
After being wowed by the Greek style models that came out earlier, I’ve gone lukewarm to this range. Almost every figure since then just looks sort of wrong, but it’s hard to put my finger on why. Stiff stances, maybe, assymetry perhaps. I’m just not fond of them. This guy looks like the slow cousin no one talks about.
