Sphere Wars Ikarus Is Ready to Land

Sphere Wars have previewed the final sculpt for their Ikarus mini. With a small change in pose it looks a lot better.
It's funny how such minor changes can make a major improvement in how the miniature looks. It's still a little stiff and the splayed legs don't look entirely natural, but now there is a feeling of motion to the sculpt, that he is either about to take off or land.
Do you think this mini would be worth picking up when it is released?
Still stiff… Still weirdly posed… The armor is still weirdly shaped, as are the wings… I still wouldn’t touch it with a ten feet pole, let alone a brush…
But yes, it’s an improvement.
I may be wrong, but it looks like the pose is meant to suggest he has just landed. The pose, apart from the arms, is almost symmetrical on the vertical axis. From the side you can see it is only the slight shift of the right leg backwards that the figure has no sense of rotation of the torso. So although there is a small difference of moving off a single plane of the lower legs and a different position of the arms the hips and shoulders are stuck on a single plane, and what then reinforces the static pose… Read more »
Also, it’s entirely possible that the only protection the guy has “down there” is the infamous hand-towel, so he’s afraid of having his preporterously heavily armored legs join and crush his pride and joy…
I think they decorate the top of their Christmas trees in hell with these. Not that it would last long made out of chocolate. Hehe
