Sneaky Goblin Concepts for Kings of War
January 19, 2012 by brennon
Promised on Mantic Games' Blog is news of the Goblins and Twilight Kin next week, but for now it seems we will have to make do with these concepts which are looking mighty sneaky indeed.
I love these little guys. Interesting gnoblar look about them wouldn't you say?
I might have to start collecting these guys for Kings of War!

love the look, but not overly excited in the fact that they are metal, costing £15 for 10. I know for metal models that is a pretty good price, but considering that a – everybody loves goblins (if you dont you should) and b – you are going to need a shed load of them for most fantasy systems, I can see these being not overly popular, considering their nearest competitor have plastic kits that work out cheaper. fingers crossed a plastic kit will come out from mantic though, they can do it, as they have proven with a lot… Read more »
I hope they go for a plastic kit as well, it would be great to see a massive horde of these.
nope, they are metal. Their cost is the same as GW ones
A plastic kit in the future wouldn’t be so out of the window.
I feel plastic will arrive later. Mantic seem to be going metal then resin/plastic once a line has proven worthy of plastic investment
They’ve tried to do them in plastic,. but couldn’t get the sprues to work out properly, so they’ve put out metal ones until they can fix the problem.
Just announced on Mantic’s blog today, there will be a plastic sprue featuring Goblins with arrows. So, it appears just the spearmen got the metal treatment.
Here’s hoping the plastics give you loads of extra Goblins to balance out just getting a mild deal on the spearmen.
I do like Mantic’s style with the Goblins and shall be getting some myself.
Can I get one mouth plug for my daughter?
Nice sketches. I’ll reserve any other opinions until I see the actual figures.
Go goblins! Hit the elves where it counts!
I like the sketches. I just wish Mantic would not make their shields so crazy all the time. Orcs and Goblins are fine with simple round shields…. (IMHO)
I remember hearing (could be from a Turn 8 with Ronnie in it) that the Orc shields were shaped like that so they could be used aggressively – you can block a blow or drive the sharp points into an enemy.
Think of it as a combat shield/lightning claw combo. 😀
No archer Goblins?
The art right now is only for the goblin spear unit, so the guy with the sword is the unit champion as it were. There should be more in the future I hope.
Gobbo’s Yeah, they look like Kev Adams style goblins. Can’t wait
Goblins look great! Just more than surprised they’re all to be metal?!? A bit confusing since I thought Mantic went the way of resin to limit costs if plastic didn’t work for some reason.
Those look promising.
