Take A Sneak Peek At Reapers Big Green Drake

Continuing a look at Reaper Miniatures Kickstarter models they have previewed the last of their big dragon sculpts. Check out this mighty monstrous drake below...
That's one awesome looking beast with a hell of a lot of detail worked into every scale and plate of natural armour. I love the curled horns and way the jaw has been modeled giving it another level of eldritch fantasy. Reaper did extremely well with their Kickstarter and it appears as if they are delivering when it comes to the models.
What do you think of him (or indeed her!)?
This looks epic.
Oh, wow !
The level of detail is great. This one looks like a winner!
I was thinking this would make a great proxy for Smaug the Dragon or even Ancalgon the Black from the Silmarillion. Just need to see the rest of the model! Fantastic work tho.
I’m afraid it’s Nethyrmaul, their Zombie dragon so unless it’s after the hobbit (a Revenge of Smaug story could be pretty cool, but I’m not sure if it fits the universe)
But the kickstarter had plenty of dragons (although none as big or imposing as their dead counterparts)
From what I remember of the kickstarter, given that it’s sitting on a sizeable rocky outcropping this is the largest dragon by quite a bit. I put in for the other zombie dragon instead, I’ve got the feeling I’ll be regretting that decision sooner or later! ¬_¬
It doesnt look very zombie or gribbly from the image shown! I’ll scoot over and check it out. I do like me a zombie dragon. Zombie anything really. I love those stinky guys. Everyday im shufflin’. Grr Arg. 🙂
It does appear to be missing most of its snout, at least all the fleshy bits of it. Curious to see how decayed the rest of the body is.
Reaper is pretty good with undead flesh-peely things. Look up their undead werewolf sculpt (“Scurvy Dog” by Tim Prow). It’s a fun one to paint, filled with nasty little details.
