The ShadowSea Continues to Be Explored on Kickstarter
November 2, 2012 by dracs
The Kickstarter campaign for AntiMatter's skirmish game ShadowSea continues to gather support, with some great pieces of artwork and sculpts.
As you can see, the campaign is progressing well to bring about this great and interesting selection of miniatures.
Of course, AntiMatter's other game Deep Wars is not being neglected, as we have been given a glimpse of some of the miniature sculpts.
These pieces are certainly shaping up well and I am really looking for ward to when we can see these painted up and on the tabletop.
So guys be sure to head over to Kickstarter and pledge your support so we can get playing these great games.

I just received my rulebook for the DeepWars KickStarter the other day and it is awesome. It’s a hefty 160 pages of full color glory with amazing artwork. The rules are also laid out really well with plenty of illustrated examples. If the ShadowSea KickStarter follows in the path of DeepWars it will be an awesome complementary game. I hope people start pledging because as it looks now, it will be down to the wire if this game gets funded or not.
Some of the models look great and others not so much. In any case I hope they do well with this.
To be honest I don’t know much about the game, but I really like everything I’ve seen: the miniatures, the scenery, the art extracts from the rule book. Material from the first Kickstarter (DeepWars) is arriving, and I’ve only seen good reviews. I’m a backer of the second Kickstater and you can get both rules books and factions from either game. It looks like a great way to get into the game. And I’m a sucka for lizardmen!
i just got my miniatures in the mail from the DeepWars Kickstarter. They are fantastic. All the miniatures have crisp detail and stay true to the artwork. The metal minis have very minimal flashing and mold lines, and I wasn’t able to find any air bubbles on the resin minis. I sure hope the ShadowSea Kickstarter gets funded because I want more of these awesome miniatures.
Great news Raving. I’ll search this board for some of your painted DeepWars figures tomorrow 😉
The minis so far look really good. Most of the concept art looks really good too. Since it’s all underwater is there a height (depth) mechanic? It seems like an underwater game should be 3D.
@agn1964: Ha, I wish I was that fast of a painter. You may have to wait a couple of weeks. @mpopke: Yes, there is a depth mechanic. For example, you may be on the sea floor and come across some stinging coral. To avoid this you can change you depth so you can swim over the top. On the other hand you may be swimming and come in contact with a jellyfish swarm, and therefore move to the sea floor to avoid them. Depth also affects weapon ranges and also moving through too many depth ranges too fast can possible… Read more »
There is a new video on the ShadowSea Kickstarter homepage demonstrating how activation, movement, and combat work. Here’s the link: http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/524168246/shadowsea-battle-for-the-underlands
New update for the Kickstarter showcasing some Sexy Sorceresses for the Axibalan Empire. We need pledges or these fine ladies will never exist. Link here: http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/524168246/shadowsea-battle-for-the-underlands/posts
I just got my hands on the DeepWars rule book. Wow. The art is unbelievable. It’s on almost every page, very few repetitions. Not photos of painted figures, which are nice, but well-drawn orginal art. A lot of time and effort went into the this. It looks gorgeous. I’ve only had it for minutes, so I can’t comment on the rules themselves, but SoB&H seems well accepted. Time to break out some lizardmen proxies and see if I can play a few rounds. I hope the last minute rush pushes this KS over the edge!
ShadowSea has opened up a pledge level where if you would just like to get individual figures. So, for those who many not want to play the game but might like some awesome figs for some RPG adventures or proxies come pledge and get your figs!
AntiMatter has a new Kickstater project to an minis to the Deepwars line. It funded almost immediately and has open 3 stretch goals in the first 24 hours. They aim to ship existing rewards for Xmas.
