Red Box Games’ Helsvakt Barbarians Go Modular
March 26, 2012 by brennon
Red Box Games have shown off the latest previews for their Helsvakt warriors. This time its a set of modular (or multi-part) elite warriors for the faction. Plenty of fur and bones with this lot.
The set will eventually have 6 weapon variants (1 flanged mace, 2 Swords, 2 axes, 1 hammer) 12 head variants (open faced and closed face helms), and five shield variants. Perfect ways to make yourself some Chaos based champions for Warhammer Fantasy or even tweak them to fit into a historical setting perhaps.
What do you make of them so far?
Tre continues to show that he is one of the best sculptors of miniatures around.
Agreed. His work draws on lot’s of inspirations and it always looks good with fantastic details.
Red Box tends to do above normal models in quality and feel. I’m glad the 2 we see are no exception to the rule. I’d like them to be in my war band or army. Great models 🙂
They remind me so much of the dark Viking/monsters in Viking: Battle for Asgard, which are awesome anyway. Makes me so want to see a dark fantasy wargame set in the middle of the Dark Ages.

True. And those raiders in the movie Pathfinder perhaps.
Combine these with those Avatars of War warriors for a brilliant looking Chaos army – the spare heads and weapons could even be spread around the main force for even more variety. Great potential here if you’re not addicted to plastic cement and simply fantastic sculpts in general.
