Reckless Mutineers! New Cro Magnon Savage Core Release
March 22, 2019 by cassn
Warlord Games have released a first look at the Cro Magnon from their Savage Core range, part of the new Warlords of Erehwon!
The Cro Magnon Bods are reckless and savage, constantly plotting and scheming to destroy the opposing factions and overthrow their Boss, Valaki, although they've yet to succeed.
I can see why - Valaki looks like he could battle bravely against any mutiny. Valaki is a proud man who sits on a bone throne in the Savage Core, and well-rounded in the art of conflict.
These ferocious fighters are ready for even the most savage of battles, so head over to the Warlord Games website to choose your warriors!
Will you be adding the Cro Magnon warriors to your tabletop?

Those look really good.
These look cool. Anyone know unit sizes for WoE?
Have they released any new stuff or has it just been moved from one category to another?
It’s typically five with the option to add up to five more.
At first I thought there were for an historical game… wouldn’t it be nice? squirmish game with cromagnon against neandertal or against pithecanthropus??
Already available 😀

The website navigation is awful, so you’ll need the main page to find the other ranges

I don’t get the relation between savage core, warlords of erehwon, lucid eye…
Is this a FANTASY game or a HISTORICAL as I asked?
Just because there are neandertals and cromagnon people doesn’t mean it is historical… in their range there are atlanteans and amazons and… nazis?
Savage Core is a range by Lucid Eye, best described probably as a kind of “Journey to the Centre of the Earth” type of game (in the best 70s vein). I think Warlord just decided to stock some of the range to use in Warlords of Erehwon just because they look cool 🙂 Warlords of Erehwon is a fantasy game with no “set” world, it’s just a set of rules to play low fantasy or high fantasy with any background you want to play. You could use it for pre-historical games (just leave the magic out), or anything you choose… Read more »
1 million years BC blond’s verses brunet’s?
Give them some shoddy guns, paint metal instead of stone et voila, Ratskins for Necromunda or tribals for your Imperial Guard. Minis look great, and affordable!
These have actually been out for a few years from Lucid Eye (now that Warlord are stocking them they’ve hit the headlines now I suppose), there also more than a few others at Lucid Eye’s main website by the same sculptor.
I must admit the Cro Magnons are my favourite sculpts from the Savage Core range (their D&D toon range come a close second, don’t ask me why 😀 ).
i really like these models! I was actually thinking that I would have preferred them with long hair but then I saw the Neanderthals in the same range I can see why they have made them with that hair to make them stand out. Great minis though 🙂
