Raging Heroes’ Brunhilde Busts Out in Metal
April 22, 2013 by dracs
Raging Heroes have published an image of the first metal casting of their new epic heroin Brunhilde, atop her mighty war steed and with Great Banner in hand.
Seeing her in metal like this, I am forced to admit that I don't think much of her.
To me, the proportions seem to be all over the place. The horses head seems cartoonishly big set upon its body, while Brunhilde's breasts look like they stick out a yard ahead of her in two directions at once.
Maybe it is the fact that she is wearing armour which makes it stand out, but to me her proportions look very off.
That's not to say she wouldn't make a cool hero figure in an army. Raging Heroes have succeeded in creating a fairly dramatic sculpt who would make a cool standard bearer. It's just that I don't think she would entirely work on her own.
If you agree, or think I'm being too harsh, be sure to drop us a comment below.

This is not bad sculpt but it surely feels weak.
Ouch, if I remember right, it was you that wrote more… subtly about some wizkids prepainted release. And those were bad. This is not. Maybe it’s because I don’t expect realistic propotions from heroic models, but I think she looks okay, especially when you take into account that unpainted metal doesn’t act well when photographed.
That’s because I expect more from Raging Heroes who are actually some of the best character sculptors on the market
Which is also why I said that its weak feeling sculpt. Raging Heroes has set expections high with they previous releases so this one is disapointment in that sense so I defenetly agree with dracs in this.
If you look at the multiple views on the website the proportions seem okay, at least to me.
There seems to be a bit of distortion due to the camera angle.
I agree that the Standard Bearer option is possibly not as strong as a stand alone figure.
For that the other options would be a better choice imho
I agree the breasts and the horse seem bigger than the usual…
For the horse, I’m glad someone finally considers how big an actual horse is compared to a human being !
For the boobies, there’s no excuse except male gamer cliché.
Yes, sadly the big boobies are a big … erm…. booby.
You can’t see it on the photos above but on other pictures of the WIP, there is a definite undercut of the breast as though it is bare.
Good fun getting each massive mammary into such tight fitting armour.
Going to chafe a bit too no doubt while bouncing around on her frisky steed.
The shape is not good. I would have thought that straight male sculptors would enjoy researching the female form to get the shape of breasts to look convincing? lol
I agree with you, @elromanozo and @dracs
Those chest torpedoes are well below what I expect from Raging Heroes. I have to wonder if these are even the same guys that made that amazing manticore and lovely standard a few years ago.
What ever became of that dragon and phoenix duel they were working on?
I’m just glad we’re seeing a model, as the past few months have been concept art of the gun girls. Could it be better? yes. Am I surprised with the chest? no. Will it sell? YES!!
Just want to say it’s not the size of the boobs I had a problem with. A lot of miniatures have big boobs and can still look like great sculpts. These aren’t even that big when compared with other minis in the market. It’s the fact they look almost as if they are pointing in two directions. I think it is because of the armour plating, which makes them look rigid.
It is one heck of a cleavage.
All the other knights call it Silicon Valley.

I think it’s a great figure, except for the aforementioned mammoth mammaries, which I will file down to something more realistic. At least she’s wearing armour that actually looks like it might protect something vital
