An Operatic New Dwarf from Scibor Miniatures

If your a lover of beards (and frankly who isn't!) then check out this new Dwarf Lord model from Scibor Miniatures.
A superb looking runic hammer, massive round Gothic style shield and a winged helmet that would make any Valkyrie jealous. I can certainly here was Wagner playing in the background with this guy. Put him on a raised slate base and the wind effect works well with the cape.
Will you be marching to war under his banner?

Now here’s a perfect dwarven lord – the cloak is a little wooden in its ‘flow’ but he’s very regal in pose and detail, and with the slight Viking feel the winged helmet gives he would go very well with those Hasslefree chainmail-clad dwarves we saw a little while ago. He’d look great with an NMM paint job…or even standard metallics. More great stunty stuff from Scibor.
Getting more of a Celtic/Gaul vibe myself with the shield shape. But either way the detail is sweet.
Never keen on the over long arms that dwarves tend to be given, but I guess that is an evolutionary development so they can comb and plait long beards and hold very long Meerschaum pipes! lol
The pose is very well done imho
There must be an unsuspecting gobbo at the foot of the cork who is about to catch the shield with the top of his head! lol
Gauls you say? That must be why I’m thinking of him as Verticallychallengedetorix. 😉 I think you have a point, though my experience with Gauls and winged helmets begins and ends with Asterix I’m afraid…
yes apart from the Hammer I thought Gaul as well. It could be the camera angle but the shield looks oval which would suggest a Gaul.
Still very nice model and no heroic stance of one foot on a rock
Thats very promising.
It’s mini Thor!!
