Mighty Cthulhu Conquors Scibor’s Store
October 2, 2013 by dracs
After teasing us with lots of previews the day prophesised in the Necronomicon has arrived, for mighty Cthulhu has arrisen! From Scibor's webstore I mean.
Now we see the final piece I have to say that I find myself a bit underwhelmed. The miniature certainly captures the essence of Cthulhu and at 175mm in height it's definitely imposing, but to my mind it just looks too bulky to be truly horrifying. The feet and tail look rather stubby, while the wings look like they belong to a chibi version of the elder god.
Is this the Cthulhu your cult has been waiting for?

Will the real Cthulhu
please stand up, please stand up, please stand up
‘coz that ain’t the real deal, I’d agree.
The detail looks rather soft due to the sandy texture of the skin. Also they chose to make all the face tentacles molded against the body. Not much depth, I’m rather let down this time.
Not their best work
I think this rendition from Reaper is much better
