Megalith Teach You How To Play Godslayer: Rise Of Legends
February 12, 2013 by brennon
The Megalith Games Godslayer: Rise of Legends Kickstarter has so far raised over £15,500 and it's still climbing. However they still need a little bit more to hit their goal.
If you have an interest in this game then you want to check out the gameplay videos above which go into the rules and play of Godslayer, giving you a bit of a crash course. Maybe once you've watched it you'll consider going over to Kickstarter and pledging!
All of this is in aid of creating their rulebook for the German market and hopefully widening the player base for this game.
There are a variety of different pledge levels to choose from and most of them contain models like the ones you can see below, which are pretty ace looking.
And if these models have activated your shiny syndrome then you can check out videos about each of the different factions on the Megalith Games Youtube Page.
There is some seriously fun fluff in this universe and each of the factions has a nice distinctive quality to them. Go check it all out.
Have you pledged to Godslayer?

Well that was so called a video for Godslayer.
Meh….
Truly amazing mechanics, simple, fast and flexible! This could be the new Warmahordes, looks perfect for the tournament scene and the miniatures are truly amazing.
Whilst informative, and I guess you have to lay out all the basics first. I thought the presenter wasn’t that enthusiastic towards the game. Was difficult to watch, as I felt like falling asleep, as you are glued to the same 2″x2″ board. This video could have been so much more if you got to relate to the presenters face and his expressions, which would have stamped a bit of charisma on the game. Not sure how big a company Megalith games are, so I can only guess that they have a tight budget or they would have added a… Read more »
Ahoi everyone! First of all: thanks to Ben for putting this online on the Beasts of War page! Second: I am the presenter of the video 🙂 Let me get things straight: we are a very small company and we just started out so there´s always lots of things to do for us… I am busy all day and the video was recorded in the middle of the night, so that might explain my enthusiasm 🙂 besides that it is quite hard for me to concentrate on speaking English will trying to explain things in the best possible way, hehe!… Read more »
Hm.. somehow not all of my reply made it to my previous post: Second: I am the presenter of the video 🙂 Let me get things straight: we are a very small company and we just started out so there´s always lots of things to do for us… I am busy all day and the video was recorded in the middle of the night, so that might explain my enthusiasm 🙂 besides that it is quite hard for me to concentrate on speaking English will trying to explain things in the best possible way, hehe! But anyway, I hope you… Read more »
I like it, but the video suffer a little from if I have to venture a guess does not have English as their 1st language (As I myself do not)
@rasmus: yeah, sorry 🙂 listen to the faction videos! those are spoken by my colleague david who is a native english speaker!
Andre, you do very well – I would not like to put my neck out in a video like that – and suffer might not be the word for it, it my 2nd language too 😉
I think that this is more a chance for me to collect more miniatures than actually play the game, as I am not a big fan of lots of tokens all over. I like the idea of different units having differing abilities. and the one unit move then the other player move is quiet good, as it stops the other person getting bored between turns. If it was available to test play at a show I would certainly give it a look though. BTW I am an English speaker and have to say that your English is better than my… Read more »
@broadside: i am not such a big fan of tokens either, that is why i usually use a d6 to countmy action tokens for godslayer 🙂 besides that you do not need many tokens. you can also keep the tactics someone performs in mind.
if you wantto test the game, just visit our website where you can download the quick-start rules for free and also the profile cards of the starter boxes!
Ah, That could be very nice idea indeed. 🙂
Maybe a multi rotary dial could be made for the tokens of each unit? if it was also build into the card it could work VERY well. e.g. a larger card with thumb wheels on the top or sides? Just a thought, not saying it would be everyones cup of tea. hehe
Thanks
That’s not a bad idea; kind of like those parking clocks for under the car front window, made of paper/cardboard … not a bad idea at all! Imagine all kinds of things you could keep track of in a game with such a unit “card”; health, mana, action points, …
And there are these also http://www.litko.net/categories/Turn-Trackers-%26-Dials/
Thanks, I got the idea from the blue disabled parking badge. The Roman Tetsudo could be on the card to. maybe a red and green rotary wheel to display whether it is on or off? Glad I have had one good idea this week and it’s only Tuesday!! 😛 hehe
The dwarves look great. I like the potion mixer dwarf the best.
A friend of mine picked up this game at spiel in Germany last year. He got the Mortan and troglodyte starter. Along with the big box of books (rule and fluff)
We like the mechanics and tactics the game has. I love the Mortan mini’s Not that big a fan of the troglodite mini’s. But thats a matter of taste.
Overal a fun game with nice scalebility and good tactics.
Love to support this on KS but I have invested too much in KD:M, RBombshell Babes, Reaper Bones etc. I cannae do it captain!
Looks a great wee system and maybe one day I willl look into it. Wish the KS well and hope it picks up more interest (despite the non native language issues for the videos).
