Are Mantic’s Dwarfs Riding Badgers?
May 2, 2013 by dracs
In a post for their upcoming Mantic Open Day, Mantic Games published a preview image for something they are calling a Brock Rider for the dwarfs of Kings of War. It's a giant badger!
Previously Ben and myself had been discussing the Redwall series by Brian Jacques in which we agreed that badgers are nature's dwarfs. Guess somewhat at Mantic was listening, the creature looks awesome!
I am less sure about the rider who has a rather awkward pose for someone riding an animal to battle, but overall I think this sculpt shows a fair bit of promise.
Remember, if you want to see the Brock Rider in person it will be at the Mantic Open Day, along with other Mantic miniature previews.
What do you guys think of this new sculpt?

As usual with these riders the question has to be, “How the hell do the riders not fall off?”
I don’t mean the model of course, a bit of Blu-Tac will do the job.
Am glad Mantic decided to go with Badgers, iirc they did a concept then changed it to a boar and there was a debate about suitable mounts, and fair play Mantic, they went for good old Brock.
Wise choice.
The fur is over sculpted. Will wait and see how the finished models turn out but dwarves AND badgers has too be good right?
(Unless you are a goblin)
The fur is not the way I like sculpted. Grant it, this is a WIP so they may clean this up.
