Mantic Games Previews A Fiery Bishop For LOKA

Mantic Games have shown off another miniature for LOKA: The World of Fantasy Chess over on the games Facebook page. Check out this Middle Eastern inspired Red/Fire Bishop...
He has the look of a Vizir about him for sure, riding on the waves of flame beneath his feet. It will be interesting to see what the other miniatures in this set look like, especially if they retain the Middle Eastern theme. I want to see a crazy Djinn!
Today also saw LOKA preview the Earth King, with a mighty crown and seated upon a throne of wood. He certainly looks like a baleful leader from the depths of the forest.

These look better than the first few offerings. I don’t think you can slack off on quality and detail just because they’re “game pieces”. I’ve made chess sets before using fantasy models. The round scalloped bases are easy to come by.
You got a good point about using fantasy miniatures.
Think these are ok I guess, but the mage at the top looks like he has been hammering in fence post with his face. 🙁 Nice looking chess sets can be quite cheap, so if your gonna do your own spin, I think they have got to look good imho. I have just looked on Amazon for fantasy chess sets and there are some nice Dragon, Werewolf, Vampire, fairy ones available cheep. I think you may want to improve the sculpts if you want to attract gamer priced games. Not a rant, I just want to see you do well… Read more »
