Flatpack Forces are running their first kickstarter campaign right now for some fortifications, and by some I mean an awful lot.

Flatpack Forces - Castle and Keep

(pictured above more than some) This beast is the full Castle and Keep from their Man the Ramparts Kickstarter and fills a 4 foot table almost to the edges. But fear not if this is more than your table or wallet can handle for Flatpack Forces have four levels of defenses to keep away angry Welsh from your door. (other angry neighbours available on request).

Flatpack Forces - The Keep

Starting with the Fort and working up through the Milecastle, Keep, and finally Castle, Flatpack Forces have come up with a gorgeous product that is ready for your table top minutes after you have the tape off the box. As you can see both sides of the mdf are printed in high resolution and the quality is so good that it fools the eye into believing there is actually texture on the pieces.

Flatpack Forces - texture

For people wondering how large the sections are, the wall pieces are 150mm long, 50mm wide and, together with the battlements, stands at 87mm high. While the tower sections are 100mm square. Flatpack Forces have found this to be ideal for figures sized from 25 - 32mm, But for myself I would have no problem with using this for 15mm figures also, it would be a grand castle then.

There is one final option for budding warlords, which is a "build it thyself" option, literally pick and chose what pieces you want yourself so you can have a completely tailored castle for your needs.

I absolutely love this, the quality is top notch and it would serve in games of Kings of War or many middle age games for myself. Even if it wasn't used in the game as a backdrop to your forces fighting it would still be worthwhile dropping onto the table.

Do you hear the enemy at the gates?
