The Lore of Fire Summons a Mighty Warhammer Elemental
September 7, 2012 by brennon
When the winds of magic blow strong and the wizards learned in the lore of fire know battle is upon them, they might summon this mighty Incarnate Elemental to the field so it can render all into ash. Check out this massive model from Warhammer Forge...
This mighty miniature is now available to pre-order for dispatch at the end of September. Rules for it can be found in the Monstrous Arcanum book which was published earlier this year.
I don't quite know what to think of this miniature to be honest. The fact it's not painted doesn't help my understanding of how it will finally look. It's certainly a very dominating model but I wonder how many of you folks will actually like it?
Is this just massive cannon fodder?

love it, can’t wait to see this with a nice paint job.
Now that’s a face ! Definitly needs a strong paintjob
Love the upper torso and head, but overall the model reminds me famine in Africa. Also, the robe could have easily blended into flames at the flowing edge. I think that was a missed opportunity, and a tipping point for me. I have to be pretty discerning when buying their stuff, as their prices are pretty steep.
Cut it off at the hips and you have a pretty nice model, even if it doesn’t really scream “Fire Elemental” to me. (Really, it just seems like any other demon, but there’s certainly a place for that.)
Unfortunately, those legs just ruin the whole thing for me.
Looks like some sort of design for an animatronic from an 80’s monster flick, not to my tastes at all but then I really liked FW’s Orc & Gobbo Idol which wasn’t received well at all by anyone else so each to their own!
Top half = fantastic! Bottom half = “What’s with the legs?”
I agree that this needs a stellar paint scheme and it could swing current opinion.
I don’t know if it’s a stuff up or not but the gw website is advertising a magma dragon being released by forge world not this. So it looks like two new releases. 🙂
The more I look at it I like it. The way the robe clings to the leg and arm look good. The last pic does it no justice as the robe that comes from behind is looked on at the end. No model is intended to be seen like that. All it needed was a slight turn so we could all see the flames properly.
I like the legs tbh Remind me of Japanese art, and I get a vibe of a Japanese demon from the sculp.
But the way they relate to the torso. His hips are tucked up under the armpits.
Just looks very odd.
