LOKA Continues To Push Stretch Goals On Kickstarter
March 1, 2013 by brennon
Alessio Cavatore's new game, LOKA is going from strength to strength on Kickstarter with them looking to fund the Earth Chess Set at $50,000. They are very, very close...
Above you can see the Queen miniature, painted to perfection, and the whole set below it. I think I would prefer Earth over all of the other elements simply because they have Dwarves as pawns! Those 'Rook' Earth Golems look pretty awesome too.
They have also previewed some of the terrain tiles for the game, which themselves are looking good. I like the art style which has an edge of the cartoon to it. I do have a liking for cool stone circles so I might have to include a lot of them.
Will you be backing LOKA?
Not at all impressed tbh.
The style is not to my taste and the pieces look sub-par imho.
Collar bones don’t join up at all not even off centre over balloon boobs 😉
Already backing it 🙂 . Would like to see the terrain in plastic but think that would be a pretty high goal. Overall really like this project 🙂
I definitely would!
…but I might be just a bit biased…
🙂
I’m interested in LOKA but imo chess needs to have a classy look. Fantasy plastic chess pieces just doesn’t do enough for me.
The rewards levels appear to be off at the moment so have not backed. For $50 you get a set for $100 you get less than 2 sets. Also to make the most of this game you need 2 ‘armies’ per player so you have the option to field different combinations of forces.
Meh. The sculpts look lazy and chunky, like dollar store stuff from a certain country with 1.2 billion people. There’s no reason they can’t look every bit as good as the models we wargame with.
