Learn the Way of the Samurai with Kensei & Zenit Miniatures
July 9, 2012 by brennon
Zenit Miniatures are a Spanish company well known for their Nemesis game but what if I said the word 'Samurai' to you? Well, check out some of the models from their new game Kensei...
These models are 30mm scale and are for a game based on the history and mythology of feudal Japan. There will be three factions to begin with, the Sohei, Buke and Kuge.
While there are no definitive rules as yet, being still in Beta and testing, you can learn a bit more about the game on the Kensei Miniatures Wargame Facebook page...
Of course with this being in 30mm it takes it a little way away from using other miniature lines but you could still mix in some Wargames Factory Samurai somewhere.
So what do you think of the models so far?

Wow
They look stunning. IMHO Takeda is one of the best equestrian sculpts I have seen
Superb range
Spain’s economy might be struggling but their modelling skills are right at the top of the league.
Those are all rather good looking models. Expesially I am impressed by way Buke Hero looks.
Just the props I needed for the coming Legend of Five Rings RPG campaign I’m starting. These will probably mix well with the Bushido figs which are 32mm. At least a little better than the historicals of Wargames Foundry and Perry.
That’s some rather impressive models covering everything you’d need. Not to forget that the quality looks top tear.
The Kensei is the one I like the most, even though it has very little movement in it. It’s like a story for this model, someone insults his honor and now he must draw out his sword.
Not the first time I have seen them. @imm0rtalreaper posted a link to these model’s on here about 3 weeks ago.
Still it’s not like they’re not worth a second look or a third.
I see figures based on the history of feudal Japan. They look good too.
Now where are the ones based on the mythology of feudal Japan? I’m curious to see where they go in their fantasy designs.
Looking on their FB page it looks like the game is based entirely on a historical feudal Japan.
Given the quality of these sculpts and the paint jobs I agree it would be wonderful to see some mythological figures too.
