Lead Drow To Victory With New Heroes From Otherworld

Otherworld Miniatures are headed back down into the Underdark with their latest releases on the webstore. Check out their additions to the higher ranks of the Drow with their Captain and Priestess...
It seems like once again Otherworld have captured the cruel nature of the Drow with their plethora of spikes on armour and weapons and even a cruel whip in the hands of that Priestess.
I like the contrast in their armour styles too with the Captain having a more practical suit of chainmail and the Priestess with her more ornamental plates. Admittedly the Captains helmet is a little audacious but it works!
Would you follow a martial or magical hero into battle?
Both of these sculpts are rather good. Still I must admit that I’m not really big on that Captain’s helmet.
I like the concept of what Otherworld are doing, going through the old 1st Edition AD&D monster books and giving their figures that authentic retro look without looking cheesy. Their execution leaves a bit to be desired though. I bought some of their barbed devils and bone devils, and was disappointed that they are closer to the old 25mm, rather than heroic 28mm, which I suppose will make chibi happy :-).
Also they didn’t fit together well and some of the sculpting was a bit vague. These look to be better.
haha I don’t mind 28mm at all I just prefer true scale to heroic as I like more natural proportions
Heroic figures just tend to lack a bit of elegance and grace.
Us Aesthetes have standards to maintain at the gaming table!
Though the lilies and gladioli tend to get in the way a lot! lol
He is cool. I like his helmet. May have a new hero
Loving the old school feel to these. They are straight out of 1st edition AD&D.
