Kings of War Week: Basilean Faction Breakdown
October 28, 2013 by warzan
Kicking things off the guys will be settling down to have a look at the Basilean Faction for Kings of War. I'd say that's a pretty good start to Kings of War Week right!? What is this faction all about and what sets them apart from your run of the mill religious zealot army?

Those are some good looking models. This faction looks really interesting.
I really like look of this faction. Besides they get bonus points from me for having big cats.
‘I tawt I taw a puddy tat, I DID, I did taw a puddy tat – wiv a frickin scary nun on top…’
With frickin’ lasers?
the sisterhood deffo look cool, i dunno, there’s something about scary battle nuns… mind you, living near a catholic school has probably had an influence on that haha – a nun viciously wielding a ruler vs a nun with a flail, they really aren’t that different…
I do like those minis, not sure about the colour scheme the studio ones are painted, but they do look good.
Nuns with flails ridding big female lions O_O! I want to know more about that “technology” part…
Angels are pretty neat. The fluff is a little to goodie, goodie for my taste.
oh nuns and their ultimate solutions
Heh I’m not sure about the idea of big cats as mounts but.. when you can field Angels (or angel-like) minis in an army I’m pretty much sold. The detail on them looks great and even the simpler “rank and file” troops like the Sisterhood look good too. I often think it would be nice if Mantic had a boxed set you could buy that consisted of one of each infantry figure from the “good” or “neutral” races for use as RPG characters 😀
But the current way generates so many more sales for them.
I love the look of the models. I like the faction ideal but I will have to see the Dwarves before i make any final decisions on which one I would run.
I don’t know, those lion riders and lion chariot look a bit awkward for me, but the paladins and angels are not bad. Not to mention the battle nuns. Go for it, nuns!
A nice lookng Army and a great sounding Backstory/Personality to it – Looking forward to hearing about the 2 Armies I am most likely to go for – Ogres and Undead!
I think if I get into this game, it would have to be these peeps. Back in the day I was a sucker for the Sisters of Battle in 40K, so the style of these are right up my street I think. But must admit even if I don’t get into the game might have to pick up some of the ur-elohi and the grand master on the loin special characters as they seem like fantastic centre piece models to paint.
Undead armies for the win!
this looks like a rely cool game system would be rely nice to win sum thing from it
Panther riders? Ok that’s fairly cool.
Reminds me of the humans in Might And Magic, always did love an angel warrior!
Just wish they had kept the game simple. All those magic items and additional special rules just made it stink of that big company GW.
Really? There’s barely two paragraphs of new rules and optional magic rules (maybe 300 words) and two and a half quite spaced out magic items. I’ll be honest it’s not exactly an onerous affair 😉
Looks nice.. really like their style.. 🙂
Great miniatures,to bad i never win….
Really love the look of this army. I’m going to take the plunge into KoW
These miniatures look awesome! I mean how can you say no to guys in armor riding lion?
Is there a one player set coming out for this army?
This game looks really good, cant wait to see more
The Basilean’s don’t sound like my cup of tea.I think something in green with a sharp pointy thing hidden behind its back sounds much better!
Big cats and angels look awesome 🙂
