Kensei’s Ronin is Looking for a Master to Serve
November 14, 2013 by dracs
The Ronin of feudal Japan were the Samurais without masters or allegiance. Now one of these wandering swordsmen has turned up in Kensei.
No wonder he hasn't got a master, he has a basket on his head.
This is the Ronin Otokodate, a master swordsman who apparently doesn't let the fact that he's wearing a laundry hamper slow him down.
Don't get me wrong, I think this is a pretty sweet model. The clothing flows well, I like the slightly ragged nature he has going on and the hat over the eyes does capture an iconic image of Japanese Samurai as they are often presented in anime, tilting the hat back just before going on a bloody rampage.
Still it does look a bit silly. And this is coming from a guy who walked through Dublin airport with this on his head.
Can you guys get past the hat and appreciate the miniature? Or does it just blind you to the rest of the sculpt?

Unusual subject I like it a lot. It’s a Tengai supposed to remove the wearers ego as well as being a good disguise.
COOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I want it!
Nice….
