JoeK Paint Up a True Bad Axe
July 9, 2012 by dracs
JoeK Minis have published some images on their web page of the newly painted Axe Brothers.
The contrasting colour scheme really helps to emphasize the differences between these two sculpts, while also maintaining an apparent connection in style. All in all I think it is safe to say that this is some impressive work by Peter 'Avicenna' Bell that really helps to show off these great minis.
Do you like the paint style? How might you have painted these? Do you like the sculpts themselves?
I think the way these guys look now just goes to prove how much a good paint job can elevate a model. Compare the unpainted Bad Axe to the painted one:

He still looks good unpainted, but a little basic. With the wonderful blending and highlighting in the painted version bringing out vibrancy and realism in the armour and life in the flesh however, he looks bloody great. If you need a barbarian hero for an RPG then you have your pick of good or evil alignment with these.
Both those models are looking great. Being painted brings those two even more alive than they already were.
