New for Hordes… Farrow Slaughterhousers
April 5, 2011 by beerogre
The next release announcement is up for Hordes... and it's the much anticipated Farrow Slaughterhousers!
Here's what Privateer Press has to say about them:
Bloodthirsty, tough as nails, and strong enough to hack the arms off a gorax, slaughterhousers serve as vicious shock troops in farrow warbands. Heedless of danger, slaughterhouser units charge recklessly into battle, cutting a wide swath through the enemy with their massive pole cleavers and shaking off wounds that would kill or incapacitate lesser farrow.
So what can we take from this?
- They have big, choppy, polearms. So Reach is almost a given.
- They "charge recklessly", which might imply Powerful Charge (+1 on attack rolls when they charge) and they might have Berserk, making them a bit like Doomreavers, but without the extra goodness.
- Finally they can "shake off wounds", so I would imagine that they are Tough.
More importantly, they're another melee unit for the Thornfall Alliance and will no doubt be minions capable of working with all the other factions. If it turns out they get all the things I predicted above, they might be a cheap heavy infantry unit for the Trollbloods (who typically have very expensive heavy hitters), or a nice minion unit to slave to the Skorne Paingiver Taskmaster... but time will tell.
What do you predict?

I’ve always likes pig-men… I don’t field them in Hords, but I’m going to buy some to use as orcs in my RPGs. I find the whole pig-headed D&D old school version of the orcs much more appealing for game purposes than the other stuff…
Ugh… Sorry about my spelling. I usually don’t make as many mistakes…
You’ll want to look at these… Pig-Faced Orcs!

Oooh… I saw them. they are amazing ! Especially the female…
Otherworld orcs are awesome…i recommend the huge bundle.
As to Hordes these beasties would really annoy my Trolls…see the recent mag for stats and info on the cheese they bring to the table. They look like they can deal out a huge amount of hurt, if you see them my advice is to shoot them dead before they smack you
