Hoffman’s Long Awaited Avatar Appears in Malifaux
May 9, 2013 by dracs
Even with Malifuax 2.0 on the way more Wyrd goodies are appearing this month, including the much anticipated avatar model for the Guild master Hoffman!
Named the Avatar of Amalgamation, this master's mechanical alter-ego promises to be one of the largest minis in the Malifaux range so far. It matches the artwork we have seen closely and it looks very intimidating, wielding some impressive range and combat as well as Hoffman's trademark talent with machinery.
Do any of you use Hoffman to lead your crews?

Hoffman looks so small and frail being held by that giant metal bot of his. Impressive model to say the least.
I don’t know…
It’s impressive, that’s for sure, but the torso and arms look too bulky for the legs. Different pairs of limbs have different styles, and so has the torso. I would have liked something more homogenous…
Then again, it may have been what the artist wanted. Oh well.
True specially with Z like legs, it looks like going against gravity (supposing that in Malifaux gravity is them same than here.. )
Well they seem to match better than any of the Warmachine ‘jacks. Really not a fan of those huge upper body/small leg things.
I think perhaps it’s more how the legs are positioned, like it is trying to stay close to the ground incase Hoffman slips off. Though bipedal creatures with multiple sets of arms like that do often tend to suffer from looking like their torso is too bulky simply because of the extra shoulder joints.
I find design of that robot rather interesting. It looks like mechanical demon.
