New Hobbit Trailer For Desolation Of Smaug Out Now!
October 1, 2013 by brennon
The Hobbit: Desolation of Smaug has got itself a new trailer and you can check it out above! As well as that see what you think of these movie images below showing off scenes from the second film...
As you can see they are showing off Bilbo and Company lost in Mirkwood, Bard the Bowman firing his signature bow while the Mayor of Laketown skulks in the background. Last but not least we have the sharp and deadly Thranduil, Lord of Mirkwood and Legolas' father.
I can't wait for this film to come out as I loved the first one, even with it's forty minute tea party Lloyd! I can't wait to see what Games Workshop make of it miniatures wise too with Smaug being a firm favourite for a BIG miniature I would say.
It will be interesting to see what they do with the rules too. Will Desolation of Smaug become a sourcebook or another full rulebook?
Will you be watching this come December?

Looking forward to the release
Can’t wait!
Not jumping outa my seat for this . I realy want to but its just not doing it for me. Smaugs voice does sound cool though, thats the power of Andy for ya.
Smaug is voiced by Benedict Cumberbatch (who incidentally is also voicing The Necromancer).
BoW Ben
Benedict sounds awesome as Smaug, mind you he was really good as the bad guy in Star Trek Into Darkness. He has a really good voice for villians, i reckon he could do a amazing Chaos SM Lord or sorcerer.
Having said that, why is legolas in the Film?? He isnt in the book, niether is the that female elf. Infact the White Orc the defiler isnt in the book either!!
The Elves were not at Helm’s Deep but most of the world is happy enough with that variance from the original. Since Legolas is the son of Thranduil, and he lived in Mirkwood, it is very likely that he would have been around at the time Thorin and Company travelled through on the way to erebor, even though JRRT did not name him (he wrote LotR years after The Hobbit). Legolas is much older than most people think – check out his entry in the Encyclopedia of Arda.
