Hayden… Female Dwarf Slayer from Hasslefree!
November 24, 2011 by beerogre
Check out this latest green from Kev White at Hasslefree Miniatures... Hayden!
This Dwarven lady look like she's out for trouble and would make a great character or leader model for your ferocious Dwarf Army.
If you haven't checked out Hasslefree lately, you'll see they've updated their website to a new funky format... why not pop over and have a browse around their new online store to see what they have on offer.
Very very cool ! An excellent sculpt and an excellent subject ! I can’t believe this hasn’t been done before…
There are a couple of female dwarf minis about, but the faces on Kev’s lasses always seem to be less cartoonishly feminine than you get on some models, and they have more range of expression than most.
Wow you can see legs attached to the feet! This can’t be a real dwarf as everyone knows dwarfs have no legs only feet onto the body.
No really, with joking aside this is a nice mini. The face is feminine yet rugged as well as the body. Its so rare to see minis that break from the stadard view of what something should look like. In this case a female dwarf slayer. It reminds me a mini I got ages ago of a dwarf with a crewcut and no beard from the old celtos line.
Good job over all.
I wouldn’t use this as a Slayer, despite the haircut and the axe. The facial expression is too composed, but she still looks dangerous, like she’s scanning the horizon for threats. I suggest painting the hair purple and/or green to use her as a post-apoc wasteland dweller.
Awesome. I have several Hasslefree minis waiting to be painted… I keep telling myself I have to get better at it before I start on them.
Impressive.
Werner Klocke has sculpted some really nice dwarf females for Reaper Miniatures. But none of them is a dwarf slayer, so this one is pretty unique.
What, no beard? Tosh. Is that the face of a dwarf? Cool mini, but she comes across a bit more like a hobbit. Ok a hobbit on steroids who has a great plastic surgeon. I think @thc303 was right on about the expression. Slayers are mad, she just doesn’t have quite that over the edge look.
Thats because it’s the cool icy glare of a female about to unleash the seven hells on her man for leaving the toilet seat up.
Thats awesome.
It’s a great sculpt, but the pose is far too static for me. I can’t imagine a slayer ever looking this calm during battle (which is after all when the model will be used).
I do like it, has the cool and calculated look of a dwarven woman on a mission. Interesting really since you never seem to hear of women taking the slayer oath in Warhammer for example.
