Hasslefree Miniatures She-Miss Has the Power!

Check out this Work-in-Progress from the bench of Hasslefree Miniatures. It's not He-Man but a warrior woman of ultimate power, She-Miss!
I can imagine Prince Adam doesn't get much say with her around, Castle Grayskull has a new owner. A proper Mistress of the Universe or is she not your cup of tea?
What do you think folks?
Nice mini, the defiant cry and raised sword is good narrative, plus the fact it’s got the Kev White touch when it comes to female anatomy helps… 😉
It’s not got too much in common with She-Ra, in fact the abstract winged guard on the sword and the vaguely templar-style cross on her boob armour suggest a paladin for RPG use to me. Still I’ll leave this here for the nostalgia fix:

She-ra. Def. n. Female of Chinese descent residing in Australia.
Oh god that video is burned into my brain!!!
Hanna Barbera at it’s darkest hour.
What is it with female miniatures? Do they all need to look like strippers? Shouldn’t we all just grow up a little? A particular pet peeve of mine is the female standard bearer, who is invariable wrapped around the banner like it’s a stripper pole. We don’t produce male figures with their junk hanging out, so why do we feel the need to exploit females in our games? If you need an outlet for your testosterone fuelled angst, surf porn, buy a magazine, or better still, get a girlfriend. We shouldn’t be supporting crap like this on our gaming tables.… Read more »
I tend to agree, but at least with the barbarian, the male counterpart usually only sports lion skin boxers and a pair of boots. Oh, and the obligatory arm guards. So in this instance there is some parity between the genders.
It annoys me a lot more with other class types though, and induces much shaking of head.
maybe I should rephrase that last bit! O.O :*)
The distinction comes with the meaning and thought put into the model. With something like the ‘Boobs and Broadsword’ art from the late 80’s and 90’s and then continued in models like we’re seeing from BaneLegion its a lot about the ”look its a hot woman in little armour fighting a dragon…get off on it”. But within the context as @chibi pointed out I don’t see anything wrong with this particular model. It’s intended to be a barbaric hero so would not wear much armour anyway. The other major point to it is that the breasts themselves are actually covered… Read more »
Yes… As a matter of fact, this lady has to be scantily clad, otherwise she’s not recognizeable as a He-Man pastiche. It’s perfectly all right to see boobs on miniatures every now and then… As long as some of us can gawk at lovely barbarian hunks, that is :)… But seriously now, you’re right, we get a lot of “miniature erotica”, and badly done at that. I deplore the fact that it’s often gratuitous, and that the artist uses bare bosom as a juvenile excuse for bad, cartoony sculpting… Is it a cheap way to increase sales towards the younger… Read more »
Oh I don’t know Could on of the BOW team put up that Cúchulainn again.
Adora has made come back.
Rule #63, no exceptions.
I like this model. This will be bought once it comes out.
I actually quite like this model, where normally the semi naked women annoy me, this one is in context due to her being a barbarian.
I like it just because it has this He-Man thing going on. You look at him and he has very little on and that was a kids show. So this model passes the sexist sniff test in my books.
