Grimm’s Owl
October 31, 2011 by beerogre
You've seen Grimm's Cat previously, but this is the latest in Mannikin Studios' range of Fae Trees, based on the art of Arthur Rackham.
This latest model has been sculpted by Jody Siegal of Imbrian Arts fame and is another fine addition to this range of sinister models.
Once again this catches my eye. I for one would love to see them unboxed on What’s in the Box videos you do.
Shall probably get the Owl to go with the Pussy Cat.
However not so keen on the way the branches are placed so will customise to taste.
(Feel like a heretic for daring to criticise something Jose has sculpted)
I had a story book when I was very small and the illustration of a tree with a little door at the base with the lights and elves running around was captivating. Remember there was an owl on the branches. Ah happy innocent days of a three year old! .
I’ve actually been looking for some “non-war” related miniatures to enjoy painting. I really like this company’s sculpting and their figures, but there is nothing in their range so far that I want enough to cash in on. If they keep expanding, though, I’m sure I’ll make a purchase soon.
