First Glimpse at Raging Heroes’ Gluttony
November 22, 2011 by dracs
Raging Heroes have previewed the first in the seven deadly sins figure. Gluttony the Devourer!
I think that this is shaping up to be brilliant miniature and I hope to see on many wargaming tables soon.
Also, Raging Heroes are now accepting pre-orders for a new anniversary edition of Eleriel and Alaniel.
These lovely ladies will be released around the 15th of December. Just in time for you to ask Santa for them.

I have not hunger for Gluttony, but the ladies are quite the dish.
I take it back. After looking at the big blob fellow on my home computer it looks much better. Must be the brightness as before it looked like it had no detail, now it does. Go figure 🙂
I just hope the wings have the squidy look without the big claw that seems out of place.
Any mention how big he is?
Are they experimenting with new plastic colors?
The plastic colors make it hard to pick out detail. Wonder why they chose to use it? For the non painters? Strange.
It’s a WIP… It’s also a 3D rendering. It’s probably not the definitive pose and details will vary on the final model. It also won’t be this color, but either metal or resin, which usually means some shade of grey or beige.
The image shown above is a render of the 3D sculpt. See 2 photos of the master here: http://www.ragingheroes.com/collections/complete-collection/products/eleriel-alaniel-anniversary-edition-28mm
The miniature will be in metal, with a resin flag.
Thanks for that. The beige / brown shows quite a bit better.
The gluttony figure may just find its way into my CSM Death Guard army. 🙂
I told him not to have that last wafer thin chocolate mint, but he wouldn’t listen…
Better get a bucket…
Gluttony would make a hell of an Ogre-themed diorama with a bit of work (an incarnation of the Maw perhaps)…but don’t mock him, he may have Prader Willi syndrome so it’s not his fault he has to eat everyone he meets. 😉
I like the billowing…cloak I guess…on the ladies as well, but to make it as dramatic as I’d like it would need a large design painted on it like a banner. Maybe a transfer print-out would work more easily, there’s just so many folds.
All that negative space on the elf cloaks… Be really interesting to see what a top tier painter would do with that. Imagine a nice tartan design… (Sadistic, I know.)
Angel could do it. At least he does tartan for Ariadna, so if he can’t then no-one can…
Link?
Just look at the Ariadna faction for Infinity on their website (Google is your friend), Angel Giraldez painted them all.
Also, you can have a look at his blog (again, Google his name).
I googled Angel Adriana Miniature Painting and got this…

quite nice – miniature 2d landscapes, but not quite what I expected 🙂
The defence rests, m’lud…

Thanks for the link, and thanks Romain for the info in him. Impressive. Now, on to the tartan – I am a bit of a tartan snob, so you’ve really got to keep to the rules if you are going to impress me. Tartans should have at least 2 narrow stripes, in contrasting colors from the primary colors of the weave. Also, the primary colors usually have at least one square section that is a blend between black and the primary color. I know It’s asking for the moon and the stars, and Angels tartan is good, but its just… Read more »
Heard of tins of tartan paint but never tartan blood
Is one thing to do as you suggest on a computer as those examples look like they have been done, and to expect the same on a 28mm miniatures banner that has more folds than a bank note in a gnat’s wallet.
The tartan theme might be of interest on the banner for you but suspect that for most people a different concept is preferable. 😉
Well, my friend, your obviously not of Scottish ancestry. 🙂 And actually I agree that for most people a different concept is preferable. It’s actually even preferable to me! I was really commenting on how all that negative space on the mini is quite intimidating, and suggesting the tartan was actually a way to make it even more insane – making an already near impossible situation even harder. But the images on the link are actually all fabrics, not CG. Oh by the way, I went to the Infinity site, and Angel really does have it down. I take back… Read more »
Think my blood is more like soup, consisting of 57 varieties, but mostly chicken I would wager lol
Argh, I take it back, some of them are CGI.
We want to thank thc303 for suggesting Angel Giraldez as a painter.
We immediately got in touch with Angel, and he agreed to paint Eleriel&Alaniel for Raging Heroes! It will be done no later than mid-December, possibly earlier!
Don’t forget to tell him to do it in tartan… 😉
I am not fond to way that Gluttony looks but Eleriel and Alaniel look great.
