RRRAaargh! It's the first shots of the new Ogre Kingdoms models... not only that, but a new army book is being worked on.
Darrell (our resident Ogre Tyrant) is a happy man... a happy man indeed!

I just got out of Fantasy (sold up my Dark Elves army) so I hate the fact I just grinned like a child at christmas seeing that Ogre Stone tusk, Damn you GW…
Spectacular
Impressive use of horn.
One way or another most these models will find their way in to my Warriors of Chaos army. I can see huge potential for conversions.
The Sabretusk? cavalry is pretty goofy looking though, which is a shame as the rest of the models look very nicely sculpted with loads of cool details.
Not really my kind of thing but I am impressed with how fluid and natural that chain on the sabertusk rider looks. GW’s plastic chains have come a very long way, I remember when they looked melted into chaos marine bodies.
stunning …
The models GW is producing lately is just unreal!!!!
No animals were harmed in the making of this produce.*
so its just more big expencive monsters for GW… but it is good to see the ogers getting some love.
They look sweet.
I just saw these over on Dakka. They are really impressive – damnable GW! Curse them all the way to Hades, them and their skull fetish!
I feel like Pacino in Godfather III at the moment…”Just when I thought I was out…they put me back in!”
Still, I won’t buy an army – but I’ll have to buy the big beastie and rider just to paint and sell. The top one reminds me of Labyrinth “Sarah! Friend!” 🙂
Darrell will have lots of new cheese-monsters to round-up for sure 😉
Do we have any idea who sculpted these? They look a lot nicer than the average Tish Camden effort….IMHO the design studio did a good job here…
Looking very nice. I always liked the Ogre models, but was sadly disappointed by their lack of quality on the tabletop. Of course, this is talking of the dark time before the Truth and Light of 8th edition, and as Darrell is playing them I assume that they are not the meh force they once were.
Just remember guys, there are other fantasy games apart from Warhammer 😉
Steadies self for the flak
Don’t like them very much
The stylisation looks so different to most in the WH universe.
It is difficult to evolve a look whilst maintaining unity in aesthetics and there is a lot of sculpting skill on display.
My problem is the beasts look like they have been rustled from Ice Age III or the Disney Studios
The waistlines of the beasts are ridiculously skinny. Especially on the cavalry.
Realise am in a minority of one but just how I see it.
sorry
Nah you’re right I think, somewhat, but taking this stuff out of the Warhammer universe (doubt anyone will be able to afford much of this stuff) – they are stunning models.
You are of course entitled to not like them, but there’s more going on there than just Orcs and Chaos. There’s a lot of stone age and prehistoric stuff there – Orcs are basically tribal, and the Savage Orcs have stone weapons, but these just feel much more caveman. And the megafauna! There’s abit of the studded leather and pointy weapons that the Chaos Marauders have, granted, but this is taken to a whole new scale. I guess that’s the word: scale. And, looking at the cannon, there’s also elements of Skaven and their experimental, prone to breaking wargear in… Read more »
I agree with you. Too much Disney.
And I also don’t like the horns and such beeing designed using a ruler.
Big and horny… sounds like something Darrell would say in a Daily Tips vid 😀
Joking aside… wow! They are going onto my shelf definitely!
I’ve got your back, Chibi. I’m not impressed. The ogres now come across as a combination of the Orcy and Chaos aesthetics. There’s a ton of detail and a few decent ideas, but by and large these don’t impress me. I mean, there’s a quick flash of interest just for the size of them — and I think the riders generally look really, really good — but when I really examine them, it’s not something I’d be at all interested in playing or even seeing on the table. It’s clear that GW’s taste and mine are now so far apart… Read more »
These look good, although I hope they don’t ruin the race by completely overhauling it, forcing collectors to re-buy everything they already have (the early version of necrons comes to mind) although I like the way they look now, much fresher than before I get much less of the “1970’s” feel from them
Jaw-dropping … Works of art.
I think they look fantastic. My only small gripe is the sabretusk(?) cavalry. Thre riders look a little high in the saddle. But the rest, astounding. The GW studio is on a roll lately, manticore and chimera aside.
I´m completely crazy with this models. What size of base are they mounted? 60×100 mm?? Bigger?? They look so big!!!
Looks like they’re mounted on the same base as the big O&G spider…
Yup, looks like it.
Slightly off topic, but is the new Zombie Dragon base twice that?
No, the base of the new zombie dragon is the same that O&G spider.
A couple of more ounces of plastic crack is so hard to resist. Zamo says, ‘just say no.’
From someone who paints as if he’s using a roller, larger models rock! And I promised myself no more minis!
I clapped my hands yesterday after seeing my freshly painted up Orc and Goblin army. After a year of non-stop painting Empire, Orcs and Goblins I finally felt I was winning. ‘Just Skaven yet to go’ I thought with glee this morning, before this! This! An ogre on a mammoth!!! An ogre with a big cannon thing! Looks like GW has done it to me again, all I can say is ‘wow!’
They are good I guess, but like most modern GW stuff – far too detailed imo, i prefer space as it allows the modeller to add their own things to it – for example I like the generic space marines and necron warriors because they have a lot of space to add your own stuff (I sculpted scales on the necron warriors and stuff on their skulls ect). I don’t see what you can really do with ultra-detailed stuff like that.
you can for example paint them up very nicely. I prefer these great models with lots of details you can preferably chose from, and these Ogres are awesome!!
How on earth an I going to hide these from my wife….? They’re a bit on the large side to ‘slip’ into my ogre force.
Ah well, I’ll just have to take the heat for them, fantastic models. I love the scraplauncher, and the titan cannon – wow – at long last, a dragon killer!
Roll on September! It can’t come soon enough!
@elpotof you just tell her that they’ve been there all the time and you’re amazed she never noticed them before 🙂
Works for moobs.
