Games Workshop Nautical Teaser Trailer
September 16, 2011 by brennon
We saw some teaser posters at the beginning of the week from Games Workshop. Now check out their teaser trailer for the news tomorrow (Saturday 17th)...
Does it stir any thoughts of setting to the high seas?

Top secret project is man of war…and there was much rejoicing
wait no…… it is nautical still…and it has a really cheesy trailer
what do you mean you play uncharted seas??
Uncharted Seas is all kinds of good.
That actually made me want it less.
I’m sorry but that is cheap…
That should have been a teaser, out there weeks ago – not a day before release.
With the likes of BoW producing far superior video production – GW must try harder…
That’s a pretty terrible trailer.
By Blackbeard’s barnacles I haven’t seen such a wonderful video since that installation of 24hrs in the life of a blank piece of paper at the ICA (director’s cut)
No expense was spared
The way the posters were brought to life was fantastic, I swear I could smell the briney seas and gunpowder smoke.
Oh no! it’s my dinner burning! gotta dash!
no expense spared indeed
altogether kids

27 seconds of a 59 second video zooming in on one drawing, wow GW, I mean, wow, do they think they can still be saved? Viva la revolution
That was an amazingly cheap video. It must have taken all of about 5 minutes for them to put together in the office.
Yarrnnnn what is it over?? So it was just a close up of their bad drawing ??
Well that was crap :/
Oooh, Man’o’War. Not seen that before… Well twice really, and I remember them trying to claim the second release was a “brand new game!” Here’s an idea GW, why not come up with a game, and then keep it in print. This allows your R&D dept to come up with a different and new game after that. The money garnered from those titles would help fund the design of yet more games, models, addons, etc. You may have heard of this, what with being big business types. It’s called a growth model. Or you could just carry on assuming the… Read more »
i think that means battlefleet gothic is probably next
The “teaser” trailer is a botched job, certainly … what would be interesting to know is why? Has the “campaign” in the White Dwarf not generated enough buzz and they’ve decided in the last minute to “release” something? Wild speculations, of course, but I’m all for improving my theories … I’ll find it equally interesting to see how GW will try to re-take the fleet-based game niche, that they’ve in the meantime lost to Spartan. The licnse is, as always, the selling point, but when you compare the amazingly priced and supported Spartan’s games and the bleak outlook of the… Read more »
The fact that Uncharted Seas allows you to develop a fleet, when according to the rumours Dread Fleet will allow no such thing…means I don’t see people picking it up in their droves.
This will need a massively good write up to actually get me interested. I will always be for my Iron Dwarves and my indestructible battleship.
59 seconds I could have better spent watching dry paint get, umm, drier….
Looks like they pulled the trailer, I didn’t get to see it but it appears that I didn’t miss much. I must have been bad if GW have retracted it.
It’s still up and running for me @bishmeister – try lowering the quality, but you are right it doesn’t add much to what we already know.
looks like its at GW….a typical bargain at £70

Looks nice and love the playmat in the pics
They really need to get a real PR crew to do this sort of thing instead of passing it off to the webteam. Or they should hire me, I could totally do a hundred times better at half the cost!
So £0.00 dived by 2 is??
I agree shocking for the biggest wargame firm out there
dam it….
fail at pointing out others fail
Really please GW have made a new game, it has been so long. In my mind GW should be all about making lots of games, not just Fantasy and 40K. I wish them luck with this venture, I hope it leads to more games being made/rereleased in the future. Necromunda would be at the top of my list.
Necromunda is not a ‘new’ game though ??!?? :S
Apparently GW have pulled the video on their site and disabled comments due to negative responses
been a good year for the GW PR department
The full Youtube Video is better to be fair

I think Blanche made this on his coffee break and released it without anyone else knowing about it … just like he seems to be able to sneak horrendous artwork into GW publications unnoticed
@warzan Indeed! Any future new games or rereleased old ones (in shiny new box sets), would be most welcome. I hope this is the beginning of more boxed games to be released (or rereleased) to come!!!
OK, so having watched the full video, I think the game has a bit of expansion value to it. Yes, it’s over priced but then it’s a limited product it seems with plastic parts, so you need to make back over the moulding costs (plastics not as cheap as Resin or Metal moulds to make, obviously.) However, I actually see a lot of potential for expansion here if GW went that way. YOuget 10 pirate models across two sides. It would be very easy to produce race specific expansions each with 5 character ships to match what is in the… Read more »
I think they should review theirpriorities and review the project of new games and all that… Also that voice for the trailer… c’mon… sounded very ridiculous.
