Fast Cav still seems a bit overpriced in 8th, but I love them anyway. For Dark Elves, you get your 12″ vanguard, 18″ march, 24″ range for repeater bows, and with free “unlimited” reforms you can put them just about anywhere you want. That’s potentially 54″ range for turn 1. Ten Dark Riders can reliably get in there and snipe a war machine or lone wizard, but if the enemy has any shooting capability at all you are going to lose the unit. Five Dark Riders cost 110 pts, which is an acceptable loss, but they wont get the job… Read more »

(yes I know I’m sucking up) My question to you is how does the Saurus Oldblood’s Blade of Realities work on Monsters with minders like Dark Elf Hydras with beast masters?
I think that doesnt belong here. Try in the forums.
Try sending this as a message to [email protected] maybe Darrell will make a video on it for you. That goes for everyone who has a question.
If you want it answered quickly.., post the question in the forums… if you want a video answer from Darrell. Send a message to the email address above.

Thanks for letting me know.
I must ask. How well wood a Horde of Cavalry work? Fast or Normal.
Not all that well. The unit is too unwieldly and your steeds in the second and third rank don’t get to support. It’s also a heck of a lot of points, for the tiny gain that you get from it.
Having said all of that, it has the potential to look quite cool and would most definitely make your opponent baulk 😀
Good video, keep the fantasy battle videos coming.
This tactic has worked well for me a few times with the tomb king’s ability to make a charge in the subsequent magic phase. Not a game breaker normally but it has taken many an opponent by surprise.
Couple of things: the chaos warriors on horses are Knights of Chaos or Chaos Knights 😉 Secondly, they ride Chaos Steeds. Dunno if you think it’s a cool name or not Darrel, but there ya go 😀
Lastly, the pistoliers not only have S4 shots, but they are also armour piercing and get two each. That’s quite a lot of hurt to be had!
lol his shirt XD
I’ve always fielded pistoliers and outriders, but at the moment thanks to the free reform they are game-changers and sometimes even game-winners for me. The ability to get through the slightest chink in the enemy armor and their absolutely withering shooting makes mincemeat out of enemy warmachines, characters and fast-cavalry alike.
