Drake: The Dragon Wargame Heading Back To Kickstarter
February 4, 2014 by brennon
Drake: The Dragon Wargame from Action Games Miniatures has put up a teaser for their return to Kickstarter on February 5th. They are hoping to unlock some more models and help bring their game to the world with help for packing and shipping it out.
Along with the Kickstarter news they have also made their mini-booklet of rules available to folks for free! You can check it out by following the link right HERE.
It's certainly hard to pass up a game filled with Dragons so it might be worth looking through the rules and seeing how this game plays. Some of their dragons are utterly awesome so it would pay to keep an eye out for the launch of the Kickstarter too.
Did you back them first time around?

That looks very promising and that first sculpt looks very good.
I almost backed the original kickstarter because I love me some dragons… but after watching the demo videos of how the rules worked I decided against it. Awesome models, but not a game I could get people to start playing in my area… but that is mostly because I’m in Korea and anything more complicated than WH40k tends to not catch on (except infinity and warmahordes). Although, in general the rules seemed overly complicated or too many things going on, but that just means it either needs more refining or has a higher learning curve…
The rules really aren’t hard to get, although I can see how they might seem daunting. I got the jist of it pretty quick, and my first game to put it all together went really well. They look complicated at first, but they give combat depth and an organic feel without being incomprehensible.
I backed it for a while, but ended up having to cancel. This was before I realized that I could back something for just a $ and keep getting the updates. I have far too many tabletop games from Kickstarter I haven’t even touched yet, but I would like to stay in-the-know.
I gave them a buck last time because I really couldn’t spare more and I haven’t really followed the progress, but…
They’re launching another Kickstarter before even shipping all the stuff from the previous one?
from what i saw on their site they started shipping on 21 januari. they even had a launch in vancouver to celebrate. i didn’t participate last time because i disliked the dragon-unit pairing some dragons were amazing with meh units but the new army has some amazing models allround so i think i’m gonna keep a close eye on this kickstarter
This is looking good. I’m more of a hobby painter and the miniatures look awesome and there hitting some nice funding targets right now.
