Great interview. I enjoy the laid-back feel of these videos, just two mates having a chat about the games. In talking about the Game of War rules, maybe ‘Universal rule set’ or something like that would help describe them.
Well done.
Would love to see a relics series as this is one of my favorite games on the market currently
Perhaps Gav should develop a miniatures game that you can play in a pub, might prove popular. The insights into kickstarter make you think.
Interesting chat, would like to have heard some more of Gavin’s own experiences of running crowdfunding campaigns.
It’ll be interesting to see where the great leap forward in combining technology with tabletop games comes from. You would think smaller companies would lack the resources to do it and the large and well-established companies have little incentive to do it.
Great vid! I think that tablets is an obvious move forward for combining tech with wargaming. Problem is that developing good apps takes a fair bit of cash, not something many mini companies would have.
I liked the idea of an app that has the rulebook in it (in a easily searched wiki style), with an army builder and possibly wound / damage tracker per unit.
Funny enough I did just read about Glory to Rome the kickstarter that lost the guys his house the other day – seem like he is shipping the last few copys of the game now several years late
Can’t wait to see who you get to interview next, this was a great two-parter interview. I’d love to see Andy Chambers on here (and good old Adrian Wood from back in the day in White Dwarf, even if it’s just to see his awesome Ork army). 🙂
