New Dark Dungeon Dwellers from Otherworld Miniatures
March 26, 2012 by brennon
Otherworld Miniatures have certainly got dungeons in mind with this new set of releases. Check out the evil crew below and start crafting your dungeons to accommodate them. They don't like to be kept waiting...
First up are these Armoured Skeletons. Great for fantasy wargaming, but I think their main draw would be as dungeon fodder.
Next up is a set of Acolytes to worship demons, dragons or whatever else dark denizen you can think of. My other thought for these was to use them as a Possessed warband for Mordheim. It's still a great game so this could revitalise it for you! Also don't forget the Wizard with familiar at the bottom, maybe a good Player Character?
And finally is their Demon model. Whereas the other releases all looked rather evil, I can't help but feel that this demon has a bit of a comical face. Plenty of arms though to tear you limb from limb if you said that and upset him.
What's your favourite of the new models?
That demon looks good but the closer I look at the face it reminds me of the wolf face from The Mask.
The demon looks inspired by medieval artwork, so it looks odd but if that was the goal of the sculptor it’s quite authentic in its absurdity.
As for the acoloytes, they are really nice minis and useful for a few games systems, CoC being the obvious choice for me ;D
The skeletons are FANTASTIC. I really like the equipment/armour choices and the poses that really make each one individual and not just another mob member.
Cool stuff from Otherworld, I’m impressed 😀
They are my favourite miniature company.
As you say jaerin the demon is based weirdness in some medieval paintings but more specifically the type III demon from 70’s D&D… Google it and you’ll see what I mean.
Another solid set of releases. That’s also the wonderful Dwarven Forge dungeon scenery in the background of the first couple of pics. I keep on looking at the Dwarven Forge EU site with longing, I just need to win the lottery!
The Demon is right out of D&D, and the skeletons and evil cultists look awesome…
Very nice job !

A few weapon swaps on the first set of Acolytes and I can make some KKKasrkins.
Those armored skeletons look very nice while those acolytes are very promising.
my first ever mini was an old pre-slotta citadel skeleton, and those armoured skellys took me right back to 1983. Great job 🙂 going to get a few to paint
Those skeletons are great and I’m usually totally disinterested when it comes to skeleton figures. They look more animated than the other models.
Now this looks like a great miniature company, very characterful
Those skeletons look like they’d fit in with my old Ral Partha undead 🙂
