More Creatures & Heroes For The World Of Darklands

Mierce Miniatures have put forward more pre-orders for their Darklands range, more from their Kickstarter fundraiser in fact. See what you think of this latest batch.
First up let's take a look at some of the more normal looking additions to the line-up. Ceonwulf and Widmund are the typical Dark Age warriors, although of course they do look to have buckets of detail to make them pop. I love that Widmund has decided he didn't want a normal spear and picked up Odin's instead.
Jowan is a bit more of a fancy one with his rather painful looking whip and a cruel looking battleaxe. Must be a pain to transport him as a miniature anywhere. Plenty of bubble wrap.
Then we get a bit monstrous with folks like Ygandr. I have to say of all three that one is my favourite as he would look epic being paired off against Widmund in a very cool mythological duel. Maybe find someone with a hammer and you've got the clash between Jormungandr and Thor.
There are more of the wild 'hound' like creatures but I've only shown off one as they are simply variants on the form above.
What do you think?

From those I really like Widmund and how much he looks like historical viking. There is no fantasy flavor in his sculpt unlike with other two that are above and below him. From those three monsters Snapper looks little bit comical compared to other two that are lot better looking.
I also think Widmund is the stand out mini of the bunch as he is suitable for historical gaming (eg Hail Caesar, Saga) or even as a Rohan surrogate in Middle-earth games. Beautifully sculpted.
That Snapper needs an overhaul, just not as good as the others.
