Cipher Spice Up Hell With Some Monkey Magic
June 13, 2013 by dracs
He has appeared, the coolest character from Asiatic folklore and 70's TV has returned in miniature form. I am of course talking about the one, the only Sun Wukong, the Monkey King!
Sunny here was one of the stretch goals for the Kickstarter which Cipher ran for the expansion for their infernal game Hell Dorado. The sculpt closely matches the artwork which was previously shown for him and looks pretty darn amazing. Cipher's Hell Dorado sculpts are usually of amazing quality and they have imbued the Monkey King with a great appearance of motion as well as brilliantly detailed musculature.
It will be very interesting to see what Sun Wukong's stats are like in the game. In the original Journey to the West he was almost unbeatable, able to change his form at will, wielding the powerful Ryu Jingu Bang (As You Will cudgel) the Monkey King was able to hold off anyone who went against him. This included daemons and even heavenly immortals.
Yet the Monkey King is not the only thing Cipher have to tempt us with. Check out this artwork for one of the new officers of Hell, Liliath.
Liliath is a powerful Succubus, if you haven't already guessed, and now seeks to create chaos and dissent throughout Hell simply for the pleasure of disrupting the status quo. What she has against ageing rock bands I don't know.
I don't have to ask if you're excited about these, of course you are it's the Monkey King! Sing it with me, born from an egg on a mountain top...

Love Monkey!
He should be able to call forth his monkey army by plucking out hairs and blowing them!
Might break the game though? lol
Monkey magic ! Fight fight fight ! 😀
I love Sun Wu-Kong, I like the model’s pose as well. Brings out is “Irrepressable Behavior”, hahaha.
and is it me or does Liliath look a bit… Slaaneshi?
That is one impressive model of the monkey king. I wish I had that skill.
Tell me about it 🙁
I really like that Monkey King.
